Alpe di Siusi

5.7
5.0/5
2 reviews
Alpe di Siusiis a vast alpine meadow stretching across a plateau. Unlike the sharp, jagged peaks common in the Dolomites, the terrain here is gentle and open, with traditional wooden huts and herds of cattle scattered among the rolling green waves of grass. To the west are uniquely shaped peaks, while to the east stand towering, grayish-white rock walls. The magnificent panorama, surrounded by mountains, creates a unique landscape. Trails crisscross the plateau, featuring both gentle loop routes and paths that lead deep into the heart of the pastures, with wooden huts along the way serving local specialty cheeses and wine. On sunny days, cloud shadows sweep across the meadows, making for a pleasant scene. Traditional alpine grazing customs have long been preserved here. In early summer, wildflowers bloom, and in the fall, the traditional scene of herders driving cattle down the mountain showcases a rich pastoral charm. In the early morning, mist drifts over the grassy slopes, while in the evening, the sunset dyes the rock walls in warm colors. This place is suitable for all seasons: spring and summer are perfect for hiking and cycling, while in winter, it transforms into a vast ski area, showcasing a rich and diverse mountain landscape.Castelrotto · 20.6 km from Bolzano

Dolomites

Dolomites are located in the southern foothills of the Alps and are renowned for their unique dolomite landscape. Unlike other mountain ranges in the Alps, the mountains here are primarily composed of dolomite, with vertical fractures in the rock forming jagged ridges and steep cliffs. At sunrise and sunset, the dolomite reflects warm hues ranging from pink to deep red. This light phenomenon is known as alpenglow, and it is one of the natural phenomena of the Dolomites. Multiple iconic landscapes are distributed along the mountain range: the jagged ridge of Seceda pierces the sky, with alpine meadows spreading out at its feet; the three massive rock peaks of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo rise abruptly, forming the iconic skyline of the Dolomites. Summer is the primary season for hiking, with numerous trails crossing alpine meadows and pine forests, dotted with family-run mountain huts along the way for rest and dining. In winter, the Dolomites transform into a ski destination, with ski slopes connecting multiple valleys. The entire region blends Italian and Austrian culture, with architectural styles featuring characteristics of both.Rocca Pietore · 38.7 km from Bolzano

Lake Carezza is an Alpine lake known for its mesmerizing colors and tranquility, located in the Dolomites Mountains in northern Italy. The lake is known as the "Rainbow Lake" for its crystal clear waters and the many colors it displays in the sunlight. The lake is surrounded by lush forests and stunning peaks, creating a picturesque natural landscape. Lake Carezza is a great destination for hikers and nature lovers. There are several trails around the lake, suitable for hikers of all levels, on which visitors can enjoy an easy stroll or a more challenging hike. The recommended time to visit the lake is during spring and summer, when the colors of the water are vibrant and the surrounding vegetation is lush. There are viewpoints at the lake, which offer great photo opportunities. Not only is Lake Carezza a natural wonder, it is also a great place to relax and unwind, offering visitors a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.Welschnofen · 19.6 km from Bolzano

• Piazza del Duomo, located in the center of Milan, is a landmark building in Milan • Admire the charming main hall, towering stone pillars, and study the design elements of various styles • On the platform level, you can see the exquisite spire on the top of the church and the statues on the spire △ The church has a total of 135 large and small spiers, each with a statue on it. Sculptures and spiers are one of the characteristics of Gothic architecture. Milan Cathedral vividly expresses this feature, so it is also the city with the most statues in the world. It is a special-style church with more than 6,000 marble statues. △ Immerse yourself in the treasures and artistic touches inside the magnificent church. Admire the incredible nave and the way the light sparkles through the stained glass windows. Study the sarcophagus and approach the beautifully decorated altar.Italy · Milan
Maretsch Castle

Maretsch Castle

3
Marec Castle is located in the north of the old town of Bolzano. The older buildings can be traced back to the first half of the 13th century. Later, they were expanded again and again and gradually formed the castle we see today. Among them, the construction of the Renaissance manor allows us to still see the four-cornered round tower built in the castle. There are many murals depicting writers and philosophers in the castle, and some reflect the wealth of the former castle owner. These frescoes are the most important wealth of the castle of Marec, witnessing the twists and turns of the castle's long history of development.Bolzano · 661m from downtown

Staying near Ortisei, I went to Blade's Edge Mountain first, then drove 36 minutes to the P2 parking lot of the Hughes Plateau. I parked there for less than 3 hours and was charged 28.5 euros. Then I walked to the popular spot to take pictures of the sunrise on the Golden Mountain. It was super beautiful, but a little difficult to walk. It was about 8 kilometers round trip and took a total of 2 hours. Don't drive on the road inside, otherwise you will encounter a sky-high ticket. There was a 👮 who kept an eye on every foreign vehicle along the way. It was beautiful.

Trentino-Alto Adige is the northernmost region of Italy, bordering Austria. The Southern Alps cover a large part of the region. In addition to industries such as wine, dairy products, and papermaking, tourism is an important source of income. The natural scenery here is beautiful, especially the famous ski resort in winter.
