Finally, I witnessed the grandeur of the Longji Rice Terraces in person! The actual scenery is even more breathtaking than the pictures! We visited Jinkeng Dazhai, where the terraced fields unfold along the mountainside, stretching into the distance, creating a truly immersive mountain atmosphere.
At the entrance to the scenic area, you must transfer to a sightseeing bus to enter the mountain. The mountain roads are winding, so those prone to motion sickness should prepare accordingly. For those with average stamina, I highly recommend the cable car; it's less strenuous and offers a stunning panoramic view of the entire terraced field. There are several viewing platforms on the mountain, with No. 2 Thousand-Layer Ladder and No. 1 Golden Buddha Peak each offering their own unique beauty. Take your time to explore and take photos; there's no need to rush.
It's also suitable for families with elderly members and children. Choosing the route that combines the cable car with gentle hiking trails will prevent you from getting too tired. Please note that there's a significant temperature difference on the mountain, and it can be quite cool in the mornings and evenings, so wear comfortable, non-slip shoes. It's recommended to allow at least half a day to a full day for the entire visit, avoiding the midday sun.
When visiting Guilin, be sure to set aside time for the Longji Rice Terraces. This breathtaking scenery, created by nature and the local people together, is well worth it!
