Dividing Paris into the right bank and the left bank, the Seine is the city's main river. The majority of Paris's most interesting historical sites are all located on the banks of the Seine. You can take a tourist boat for a short cruise up the Seine to enjoy the scenic beauty of both banks, including many places of interest such as the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, Notre Dame de Paris and the Eiffel Tower.France · Paris
Mont Saint-Michel

Mont Saint-Michel

8.1
4.8/5
247 reviews
Mont Saint-Michel is a small granite island in the bay at the border of Normandy and Brittany, France, and a sacred site in the hearts of Catholics. According to legend, in 708 AD, Aubert, the bishop of Avranches, received three revelations from the archangel Michael in his dreams, instructing him to build a sanctuary for the angel on the rocky outcrop then known as "Tomb Mountain." Both the mountain's name and the abbey atop it originate from this story. Today, the abbey complex at the summit, constructed and expanded from the 11th century onward, features Romanesque naves and Gothic spires layered one upon another. The golden statue of the archangel atop the spire, sword raised toward the sky, is a distinctive landmark visible from afar when gazing upon the holy mountain. Tides are the core attraction here. The bay's tidal range can reach over ten m, with the sea retreating up to over ten km during low tide, exposing vast mudflats. During high tide, the sea rapidly closes in, described by Victor Hugo as advancing "like galloping horses." On days with exceptionally high tides, the entire island is encircled by seawater, recreating the true spectacle of an isolated island at sea. Tidal times change daily, so check the tide chart before your visit. Witnessing the starkly different scenes of mudflats and ocean during both high and low tides is a must. Ascending along the main street, you'll find shops and restaurants with medieval charm on both sides. The stone houses and alleys exude an antique atmosphere, and the ancient city wall trail around the island is also worth exploring. The high-vaulted nave, Gothic cloisters, and tranquil gardens of the hilltop monastery deserve careful appreciation, while the platform offers a panoramic view of the bay's tidal flats and winding streets. The island also features small museums showcasing the history of the sacred mountain, tides, and navigation, which can be visited if time permits. Note that the bay's tidal flats flood rapidly with quicksand, so avoid venturing onto them alone. Always follow a professional guide if you wish to cross the bay.France · Le Mont-Saint-Michel

Cote de Granit Rose is located on the north coast of the Brittany Peninsula in northwestern France, in the Côtes-d'Armor department, and is a stretch of coastline extending approx. 10 km between Trébeurden and Perros-Guirec. Over millions of years, wind and waves have sculpted large granite blocks into boulders of various shapes. The feldspar crystals in the rocks have a rose hue, giving the entire coastline a unique pink glow in the sunlight. The color of the rocks comes from the mineral composition within the granite, which is particularly vivid under sunlight, creating a sharp contrast with the turquoise water, light-colored beaches, and coastal vegetation. The area features bays, rocky beaches, and scenic trails, making it suitable for hiking, photography, and enjoying sea views.France · Tregastel

Paris abounds with sites that combine grandiose, iconic beauty with historic significance, and the Palais de Chaillot is a prime example. Built for the Exposition Internationale hosted in the city in 1937 on site of the previous Palais de Trocadéro, the Palais de Chaillot overlooks the stunning Esplanade des droits de l'homme that magnificently frame the Eiffel Tower. The Esplanade was given its name because the palace was the location of the signing of the United Nation's Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. The Palais also boasts four museums as well as one of the national theaters of Paris.France · Paris

Elephant Trunk Hill is located on the seaside of Etretat. It is a series of three naturally formed giant arched rocks. An arched hole is formed in the middle part of them due to sea erosion. From a distance, it looks like an elephant standing by the sea. And the rock inserted into the sea on one side is like the long trunk of an elephant, and the scene is spectacular and charming.France · Etretat

The food was mediocre and not worth the price, but the scenery was nice; we saw the entire Seine River in two hours. The service was poor; the set meal included a bottle of wine, and after I finished the first glass the waiter poured for me, it took 20 minutes for them to refill it.

It's truly a magical place, with incredibly changeable weather; one minute it's raging winds, and the next it's sunny and warm. Many people take a day trip, but I think staying overnight is better, so you can see Mont Saint-Michel in the early morning when it's less crowded.

The Rose Coast stretches for nearly 10 kilometers. Most people choose to go to Perros-Guirec because the scenery is the most stunning and it also gathers the best sections of the Rose Coast. Please wear good shoes. All itineraries are on foot, but don't worry about steepness or climbing. It's good all the way. Ploumanach Lighthouse, also known as Men Ruz Lighthouse, is probably the most famous landmark of the Rose Coast.

The Champ de Mars is now called the "Parc de la Marche" in Paris. This was probably to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Eiffel Tower on March 31, 1989, and to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Paris World Expo in 1889, as well as to meet the needs of the world's people in striving for world peace and fighting terrorism, and to meet the requirements of the surrounding environment. Near the Parc de la Marche are the UNESCO Building, the World Economic Cooperation and Development Organization; the French National Assembly Building, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Industry and other world organizations and state agencies. The Parc de la Marche makes people miss the history of the Eiffel Tower and the World Expo, which symbolize world peace.
