Daocheng Yading, also known as Yading Nature Reserve, is known by locals as Aden Scenic Area. Located in the southern part of Daocheng County in Ganzi Prefecture, it is mainly composed of three mountains, Xiannairi, Yangmaiyong, and Xianuoduoji, as well as surrounding rivers, lakes, and alpine meadows. There are not only magnificent and sacred snow-capped mountains in the scenic area, but also vast meadows, colorful forests, and blue crystal clear lakes. Hiking on foot like the local Tibetans is a better way to experience the scenery in Yading. However, due to the high altitude of the Aden Protected Area, the entire walk still requires considerable physical fitness.Daocheng County · 64.3 km from downtown

Milk Lake is nestled in a mountain col at the foot of Yangmaiyong Snow Peak inDaocheng Yading, at an elevation of approx. 4,500m. It is an alpine lake formed by ancient glaciers. The lake is small, with an area of approx. 0.5 hectares, and its outline resembles a water droplet. The lakeshore is surrounded by alpine meadows, and further out and up are bare mountains, snow peaks, and vast glaciers. The outer edge of the lake water has a ring of milky white, which gradually transitions to light green and emerald blue towards the center of the lake; on windless, sunny days, the reflection of the snow-capped mountains is clearly visible on the water surface, and the name "Milk Lake" comes from that milky white edge of the lake water. Milk Lake is located in the latter half of the Yading long-distance hiking route: starting from Luorong Pasture, you need to climb along the mountain path for a one-way distance of approx. 5 km and an elevation gain of several hundred m to reach it; a short distance further up is the higher Five-Color Lake, and most hikers combine the two lakes into one trip.Daocheng County · 74.2 km from downtown

The Tibetan language name of Wuse Lake is: Mudicuo, located above the milk sea, between Xiannai and Yangmaiyong. Named for producing five different colors under the sun. After a steep slope on the right side of the milk sea, the lake is round and the lake is clear. Under the sunlight, it reflects the multicolored light, which is spectacular. The five-color sea is the god lake in the hearts of local people. The Buddhist scriptures praised the lake, saying it was in the same name as the Tibetan sheep.Daocheng County · 73.6 km from downtown

The scenery in Daocheng Yading is amazing. This is my second time visiting. The buses and shuttle buses are very convenient. There are service personnel everywhere, and there are many hot water and oxygen supply stations. Staff at the supply stations can help measure blood oxygen levels.

The Milk Sea is located in Yading Village, Shangri-La, Daocheng County, Sichuan Province, which is far away from Chengdu. If you want to see the Milk Sea, you need to hike in the mountains at an altitude of more than 4,000 meters. It is basically impossible for people with weak physical conditions and altitude sickness to see it. The Milk Sea is a plateau lake with crystal clear water.

Xiannairi Mountain is very beautiful. You can walk up the steps for about an hour. There is a big lake halfway up the mountain, and the lake reflects Xiannairi Mountain. It was autumn when I arrived in Daocheng Yading. The trees on both sides of the lake began to turn yellow, and the snow-capped mountains were even more beautiful. [Scenery]

After arriving at Milk Lake, I definitely want to go to Five Color Lake. It takes less than half an hour to go up the gentle slope. You still need some luck to see the scenery. When I went up, the weather was gloomy, fog covered the fairy day, and it rained a little later, but I could still see the glacier above. If you are lucky, you can see the Three Gods Mountain.

This is a scenic spot in the city of Aden, and it is also the end point of the battery car. Here, you can go to the Milk Sea and other directions through the pedestrian plank road. It can be said to be a transfer point. For most tourists, this location can actually see the three sacred mountains from a distance. If you are physically weak, you can just walk around here. You don’t need to continue going up to see the three sacred mountains.

A perfect score! Zhagongbeng is the starting point for the long trek. Stepping off the electric cart, you're immediately faced with three sacred mountains, offering unobstructed views and a panoramic vista of the snow-capped peaks. You can easily capture magnificent snow-capped mountain panoramas. The surrounding meadows are vast, and you might even encounter gentle Tibetan wolves, adding to the wild charm of the Tibetan landscape. This is the fork in the road between Chonggu Temple, Pearl Lake, and Milk Lake. The route is clearly planned, avoiding detours. The gentle viewing platform is easy to walk to, allowing you to admire Mount Xiannairi up close without much physical exertion, balancing relaxation with great photos. The attractions are included in the scenic area package ticket, with no extra charges, making it excellent value. It's recommended to arrive early to avoid crowds; the morning sun bathes the snow-capped peaks in a particularly sacred light. As a key transit point in Yading, it combines scenic beauty with practicality, making it a must-visit in Yading.

Haizi Mountain Nature Reserve is located in the north of Daocheng, with a total area of 3,287 square kilometers and an average altitude of 4,300-4,700 meters. The plateau is the largest ancient ice body relic on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, namely the "Daocheng Ancient Ice Cap". There are jagged rocks and large and small lakes scattered all over the mountain. On the mountain with an average altitude of 4,500 meters, 1,145 large and small lakes are shining in the mountains like a thousand diamonds scattered by God. Its scale and density are the highest in China. The unique landscape of Haizi Mountain is the stone river, stone sea and glacial rock basins (lakes) of various shapes composed of large and small granite boulders (gravel). There are no trees or rivers in sight, and even wild grass only grows occasionally. It is as "wild" as the surface of Mars photographed by the "Spirit".

It exceeded my expectations; it was magnificent. The white pagoda paired with Gesang flowers was especially beautiful. Taking a leisurely stroll around it, I quietly felt the power of faith. It's not far from the city center, so I recommend stopping by if you're passing through.

The clear mountain breeze blows across the snow-capped mountains and lakes, stirring the pine trees to make pleasant waves and blowing the prayer flags one after another. Amid the lingering smoke, the sound of Sanskrit, and the fluttering prayer flags, Chonggu Temple is perfectly embedded at the foot of the Xiannairi Mountain.
