Hemingway Home -Literary Sanctuary with Cats and Six-Toed Legends
This was the residence and creative workspace of Nobel Prize-winning author Ernest Hemingway in the 1930s. The iconic Spanish colonial-style architecture, lush green courtyard, and dozens of polydactyl cats (believed to be descendants of Hemingway's beloved pets) still living here create an atmosphere of frozen time. You can enter his second-floor study where he typed his masterpieces, experience the birthplace of classics like "The Old Man and the Sea," and learn about his enduring connection with Key West.
Key West-"Home of the Sunset," a Caribbean-style town
The iconic landmark of the southernmost point in the continental United States (Southernmost Point) is located here, just 90 miles from Cuba. The island is filled with colorful Victorian architecture, laid-back street music, art galleries, and seafood stalls. In the evening, head to Mallory Square to witness the sunset hailed as "the most beautiful in the U.S.," a quintessential ritual experience on the island. This place is also synonymous with freedom, romance, and bohemian spirit.
Key West Lighthouse -Guarding history with a panoramic island view
Built in 1848, this lighthouse once safeguarded ships' safe navigation and now stands as the highest point and historical landmark of Key West. Climb the 88-step spiral iron staircase for a 360-degree panoramic view of the island's red rooftops, azure waters, and street networks. Adjacent to the lighthouse, a small museum preserved in the former keeper's quarters quietly narrates tales from the maritime era.
Seven Mile Bridge -"The Ocean Highway to the Horizon"
The most spectacular segment of the overseas bridges connecting the Florida Keys stretches like a straight line across the emerald sea. Featured in numerous films (such as "True Lies"), it's a classic destination for road trips and photography. Driving across feels like soaring above the ocean, with endless sea and sky on both sides. The bridge features pedestrian and bicycle lanes, allowing visitors to pause and feel the ocean breeze, occasionally spotting dolphins swimming beneath.
