Took the 10.30 ferry from Auckland, arrived at the island and completed the 4 hour loop at an easy pace, including a visit to the lava caves, the summit, and all the beaches on the east side of the island. It was very quiet, I had the beaches to myself! Made it to the Wharf again at 3pm and got the 3.30 ferry back with no issues. Great day out with a 8+ mile hike and spectacular views!★
