It was originally established by British immigrants and later became the center of local agriculture and commerce. The town retains many historic buildings from the 19th century, including old churches, official buildings and shops. It provides visitors with an opportunity to travel through time. Wave Rock is located in the Hyden region of Western Australia, about 340 kilometers away from Perth. It is part of Hyden Rock. The special shape of wave rock is caused by long-term weathering. The huge rock was eroded by wind and water, forming a wave-like shape, hence the name "Wave Rock". Wave Rock is a wavy rock wall 16 meters high and 110 meters long. making it a striking natural sight. Hippo's Yawn gets its name from its shape, which looks like the open mouth of a large hippopotamus. This is due to long-term natural erosion and weathering. Corrigin Dog Cemetery was established in 1974 and is one of the earliest cemeteries in Australia dedicated to pet dogs.
