▲ In the Naxi language, the white water terraces are called "Shibuzhi," meaning "gradually growing flowers." Known as the "fairyland field," it is the birthplace of the Dongba religion of the Naxi people. Over tens of thousands of years, calcium-rich spring water has deposited to naturally form unique travertine terraces, layered in alternating shades of blue and white. Approaching the terraces, one sees cascading white water terraces resembling scattered crescent moons or the silver ornaments of Naxi maidens, stacked into countless gleaming rings. Under the morning and evening light, the reflections create a refreshing, jade-like brilliance. To the left, a crescent-shaped spring terrace overflows with clear water, said to be where fairies once adorned themselves. Below it lies a jade-white stone arch resembling a pregnant woman, a sacred site where locals worship the fertility deity.

▲ Tiger Leaping Gorge is the first grand canyon on the Yangtze River, renowned for its wonder, danger, majesty, and grandeur. It derives its name from the legend of a fierce tiger leaping across the river by bounding onto a central rock. After the turbulent Jinsha River flows past the First Bend of the Yangtze at Shigu Town, it abruptly turns northward, forcing its way through the narrow gap between Haba Snow Mountain and Yulong Snow Mountain, forming one of the world's most celebrated canyons. With sheer cliffs overhead and raging currents below, the gorge presents a spectacular sight during flood season—waves like snow and thunderous roars—creating an immensely magnificent and awe-inspiring scene.
