The entire experience was very well done. The driver/guide Pedro was very knowledgeable about the local history as well as all of the ins and outs of making wines in the region especially Port which can only be made in the region by law. The Vineyards that we visited were well prepared for our arrivals and gave us the background, history and the proces for making each particular wine in our tasting. We got to see the stomping areas where teams would press the grapes with just their feet. Also, each of these vineyards made their own olive oils which allows them to keep their workers employed year round as one harvest compliments the other.
The lunch was also a highlight, with authentic Portuguese foods. This was truly a local place in a small town on the river. You eat like you are going back out in the field to continue picking, so good! The boat ride provides another perspective of how far the industry has come and the challenges of the land for growing on the steep slopes. Pedro dropped us off right back at our hotel after a very full and wonderful day. Highly recommend Pedro!★

Great day out with Jorge keeping us engaged and the mood light throughout this curated experience. The 2 vineyards, wines, boat ride, food in both vineyards, was impeccable. Loved the opening of the vintage port bottle using traditional technique of heated tongs and cold water. Highly recommend!★

It was a wonderful trip to the beautiful Douro Valley. We had a fantastic day filled with memorable experiences, delicious food, plenty of wine tastings, and fascinating tours of local wineries.
Telma was one of the best tour guides I've ever had. She is incredibly knowledgeable, sharing a wealth of history and fascinating background stories about the region, the wine industry, and Portugal in general. She took genuine care of everyone in the group and was especially attentive to me—applying ice packs several times after I accidentally bumped my forehead while boarding the bus (so please be careful and avoid making the same clumsy mistake I did!).
I feel really fortunate to have chosen this tour and to have met her.
