We visited in November on a weekday. Lesser crowd and the weather was perfect, sunny between 10°C & 15°C. Our tour came with a guide who got us the tickets and planned the hiking routes, covering every "tourist-must-see" parts of the mountain.
The buffet lunch recommended by the guide at ¥98/pax up on the mountains is a really good deal too.
Huangshan is NO JOKE. The 8km up and down the steps lasted for almost 6 hours, excluding the one-way 20mins shuttle bus ride & one-way 10mins cable car ride. At the end of the tour our legs were not cooperative anymore.
Besides the breathtaking views, it was also heartbreaking to see elderly potters carrying approximately 180 catties (about 108kg!) of goods up and down the mountains. They are literally breaking their backs 😭! Some even stopped and asked passers-by for water / food. Would forming a bucket brigade or a human chain be workable?★

The service was excellent and professional! I honestly didn’t realize how vast the Huangshan Scenic Area and Hongcun actually were, so booking a private van was definitely a wise decision—especially for a seamless station pickup.
One of the biggest highlights was the smooth coordination:
WeChat Group Coordination: The operator and driver set up a group chat well in advance.
Effective Communication: Even with a language barrier, everything was easily resolved using the translation feature in WeChat.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and stress-free way to explore Huangshan.★

Booked this for relatives abroad. They said the experience was excellent. The tour guide contacted us the night before the trip via text message. They picked us up on time the next day. The driver was smooth and responsible. The tour guide was knowledgeable and shared a lot about Chinese culture and history at the attractions, all in a humorous and engaging way. Lunch was also a local specialty, very representative of Chinese cuisine. Overall, five stars! Highly recommended!★

I had an incredible time on the trip to Huashan. The views really are more incredible than you could imagine. But best of all was our guide Zem - he was helpful, kind, friendly and full of information throughout. He did a great job of explaining the different options and routes and making sure we had our tickets with no stress. Actually I had some trouble getting a ticket for the plank walk (optional part of the tour) but Zem was incredibly attentive and did all he could to make sure that I was able to get the ticket and that everything ran smoothly. 10/10 I would recommend this trip and Zem to anyone who wants a unique experience in the most incredible nature you'll ever see!★
