A great journey overall~ Only two of us signed up for this trip and we decided to hike. Mark is a great guide and very knowledgable. It’s a fun and wonderful trip and we even have a red panda coming up for a nice portrait shot.

My partner and I had a great time on this trip! Our driver Xie Fei was very friendly and accommodating. We learnt lots while practising our basic Chinese, such as aspects of Chengdu's culture and excellent places to go for noodles! Our English-speaking guide at Dujiangyan was very knowledgeable, and we learnt much more than we would have on our own. We were the only people who booked the English tour, and so we were upgraded to a private tour.

Our guide, Jojo was fantastic. She knew which spots to go to avoid the crowds, patiently explaining the research centre and panda's characterics. We could tell that she enjoyed the pandas too and it wasn't just another job - which made the tour fun and interesting. Highly recommend getting a tour guide aa the research centre is huge and you may not know how best to make use of your time. Having said that, do get Jojo and you will not be disappointed!


