A great way to travel around the region. It's worth it if you take a day trip from Osaka to Hirashima and take the ferry from there to Miyajima Island. I also used the pass for trips to Kyoto and Nara, but it's not the best itinerary.ā

Buy a voucher here, then go to the JR counter at the designated train station (I exchanged it at Sendai Station). We will then get the actual pass. It's not difficult, very convenient.ā

Although the price has increased, it's a fantastic value, with a 7-day Shinkansen and express train ticket costing the full amount. Redemption is easy at Kansai Airport, with designated seats available at the green window. JR Passes allow you to use sleeping trains, but you'll need to pay for express trains and beds.ā
