The meeting point was right by the Starbucks at the east-shiroku exit of Hakata Station, and we departed right on time. Some tourists overslept and didn't even wait. They were very punctual.
The bus was in excellent condition, with plenty of air conditioning. The guide was very welcoming.
Kumamoto Castle and Mount Aso were both great. Despite the heat, Kumamoto Castle was worth visiting; it's air-conditioned and offers a panoramic view from above. There were also many delicious dishes on the first floor. The horse meat fried cakes were delicious, and the limited-edition watermelon soda was very quenching.
Due to Mount Aso's active season, we couldn't get the bus to our nearest viewing location, which was a shame.
The ice cream on the mountain was delicious and worth trying. The set lunch menu was also good, though a bit pricey up there. The air was nice, and walking on the grass was much cooler than at the foot of the mountain.★

We set off from Fukuoka. The weather was perfect and the arrangements made by our guide Wang were very reasonable. We went to the mountains first and then to the sea. We worshipped Buddha and then watched the sea. We enjoyed a peaceful and romantic day. Later, we met the people who were on duty at Aso Volcano with guide Wang again. This also showed the connection ability of the local Chinese tour company that guide Wang had integrated into. I am grateful for all the good people and good deeds I met in Kyushu.★

Director Jiang was very enthusiastic, speaking fluent English and Mandarin. He seemed like a warm-hearted person from Northeast China. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any of the restaurants he recommended. Yufuin in Oita Prefecture is a unique region with geothermal activity everywhere, making it unforgettable, especially the last stop, Nyoi-rin Temple, where there were adorable frog princes everywhere, and vibrant autumn leaves. The streets around Yufuin are worth exploring. The yuzu soy sauce at the Kamado Jigoku Onsen Park was delicious; I bought a bottle and found it selling for 120 RMB on Taobao. I bought it for 820 yen, about 37 RMB – the Taobao price is outrageous!Trip.com Picks
