From the very beginning, he was knowledgeable, engaging, and incredibly thoughtful in how he shared the history and significance of the site. Andreas has a real talent for bringing the ancient engineering marvel of Dujiangyan to life. He explained complex ideas in a way that was easy to understand, while still being rich in detail and context. We especially appreciated how he connected the history to modern-day China, which made the experience feel even more meaningful. Beyond his knowledge, Andreas was patient, friendly, and attentive to everyone in the group. He made sure we were comfortable, answered all our questions with enthusiasm, and even gave helpful tips for the rest of our trip. Thanks to Andreas, what could have been just a sightseeing trip became a memorable and enriching experience. We would highly recommend him to anyone visiting Dujiangyan!

The painting teacher and the school headmaster were both exceptionally kind and attentive—genuinely caring hosts who guided us with great patience. A fluent English-speaking interpreter was present the whole time and assisted with everything, including arranging transportation. She also shared fascinating insights into local customs and everyday life in China. The result was a deeply authentic, hands-on experience that felt personal and thoughtfully curated rather than touristy. A fantastic experience! We were guided through the market by Hang, who explained the different vegetables to us. Afterwards, we had tea and peanuts. Then we cooked with a chef. She didn't speak English, but Hang translated. We prepared three dishes, each one as delicious as the last. I highly recommend doing this activity when you visit Chengdu!


