Itinerary Overview:
Departure at 09:00am from Furama Hotel Sydney Chinatown in the city center
Pick-up at 68 Harbour Street, Haymarket (next to the Furama Riverfront Hotel) in Chinatown
10:10am Valder Mountain Observation Deck - Sea Cliff Bridge
The first stop is Bald Hill Lookout, one of Australia's renowned viewpoints. At an elevation of approximately 300 meters, it offers a 360-degree unobstructed view of the area's majestic cliffs, azure ocean, and the panoramic Sea Cliff Bridge. This location is also famous as a prime site for paragliding. Travel along the Grand Pacific Drive to enjoy the scenic coastal views and pass through the dazzling landmark Sea Cliff Bridge. Built along the coastal cliffs, this winding bridge stands tall at the junction of sea and cliffs, with steep cliffs on one side and the boundless Pacific Ocean on the other, offering captivating coastal scenery.
11:00am Wollongong Harbour Lighthouse
Next, proceed to Wollongong Head Lighthouse to admire the first new lighthouse in New South Wales since 1903. Built with reinforced concrete, it replaced several earlier lighthouses upon completion. The towering lighthouse view, combined with the stunning harbor scenery, creates a truly refreshing and delightful experience!
12:00pm Enjoy lunch in Wollongong city center
12:45pm Triumph Stage
This is the first "Victory Monument" in New South Wales themed around the wartime friendship between the Australian and Chinese people. The exploded landmine shape represents the destruction of war and violence, while the ladder and friendship knot within symbolize "peace and friendship."
13:15 Nan Tien Temple (Closed on Mondays, except public holidays)
Nan Tien Temple is the largest Buddhist temple in the Southern Hemisphere. The temple perfectly blends traditional and modern architectural styles, featuring main structures such as the Great Hero Hall, the Great Compassion Hall, and the Ling Shan Pagoda. While exploring the temple's architecture, visitors can also enjoy exhibitions, savor vegetarian cuisine, and experience religious festival celebrations.
2:30 PM Kiama Blowhole
Then drive to Wollongong's famous special attraction, the Kiama Blowhole. This naturally formed rock cavity intermittently sprays water from the hole at the cliff's edge, creating a spectacular sight. It's a must-visit attraction when in this area.
※The spray hole effect varies depending on the season, wind, waves, and weather conditions.
3:10 PM Bombo Headland "Heaven's Gate"
Arrive at the niche internet-famous spot - Bombo Headland Quarry, also known as the "Gates of Heaven." Its stone pillars stand like vigilant guardians, blocking the relentless waves along the coastline. The central rock section has collapsed from prolonged wave erosion, resembling an open gate—hence its name. Walking among the columnar jointed basalt pillars feels like strolling on the moon.
3:30 PM Gerringong, a coastal town on the South Coast of New South Wales
The famous oil painting town of Gerringong, often referred to as the "Oil Painting Village" for its picturesque scenery, boasts stunning coastal trails, ocean pools, whale-watching platforms, and breathtakingly beautiful beaches.
