Important note

Given the unique geography, climate, and geological features of Australia's inland central region, please adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a comfortable, enjoyable, and safe journey.

1. Heat protection (summer)

Daytime temperatures often reach 40°C.

- Essentials to pack: Light-colored lightweight clothing, comfortable hiking/travel shoes, wide-brimmed sun hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen (SPF 31+).

- Stay hydrated: In hot environments, it's recommended to drink approx. 600ml of water per hour, with a total daily intake of 2–3 liters. Prioritize bottled water and avoid high-sugar drinks (which can cause dehydration).

2. Heatstroke identification and response

- Main symptoms: Blurred vision, confusion, dry mouth, worsening dizziness, rapid pulse/respiration, profuse sweating followed by no sweating and altered mental status.

Emergency measures: If any of the above symptoms occur, immediately notify your guide or contact the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Uluru station) at 08 8956 2136.

3. Cold-weather preparation (winter: May–Aug)

- In addition to sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sun hat, be sure to pack warm, cold-weather clothing.

- Desert areas experience significant temperature differences between day and night, with cooler temperatures in the early morning (e.g., sunrise tours) and evening (e.g., Sounds of Silence dinner).
