After visiting Monteverde five times, I am convinced that George is the best guide you will find in the area.
I used George as a guide for a solo trip a couple of years ago, and most recently while traveling in Costa Rica with my 15-month old and my mother and her two friends. George was so helpful with my baby, carrying my backpack while I carried my babe in a carrier. He was patient with my elderly mother and her friends, allowing us to rest and take a break when needed. He made sure our tours were accessible to my mom and her friends, while still seeing some of the most beautiful birds and animals. George was our guide for hanging bridges, a night tour, birding and a walk to the Continental Divide. He is a very talented photographer, so he will get great photos of you and your family and all of the beautiful things you see.
George is well-loved and respected in the community, which means when you come across other guides on your treks, they will tell him the location of where they have recently seen the hard to find animals, like the quetzal! Every time I visit Monteverde, I see new beautiful birds and animals because George is on top of his game. 🦜🌱🐍🌳🌙🦋★

they recommended us to hike the curi-cancha reserve as there is more wildlife to spot. Our guide Roy was very attentive and friendly. He is a truly expert with the flora and fauna in this region! He knew a answer on all questions we asked. Would recommend it allday!★

Reviews: Cloud Forest hanging bridges with a local naturalist tour guide

Authentic, incredibly knowledgeable, and simply passionate about it! That was and is Johnny (Johnny loves nature), our guide across the hanging bridges in the cloud forest. We booked a tour advertised for a maximum of 15 participants. As luck would have it, none of the other participants showed up, so we set off into the jungle alone with Johnny. Even on the first bridge, you could see how much he loves and lives his job. His extensive expertise on flora and fauna actually brought the rarely seen quetzal (the national bird) right into our lens. To give us the chance to really catch a glimpse of all the different bird species and other inhabitants of the cloud forest, Johnny even brought two binoculars and a single-lens tripod binoculars with him. With a healthy dose of enthusiasm and commitment, we continued. Two hours were filled with wonderful conversations, lots of humor, and very interesting information, so much so that they simply went by far too quickly! Absolutely sincere and without exaggeration: We would do this tour again and again, because Johnny loves nature!!! Many thanks
