This trip from Nagoya to Shirakawa-go and Takayama was a fantastic experience. Our guide, Zhang Jing, provided detailed explanations of the sights, making them crystal clear – very reliable! The car took us directly to the observation deck, allowing for a relaxed and enjoyable trip. The guide also recommended the Magome & Tsumago route, which is definitely worth checking out. Our guide on this route, Ms. Shu Ming, was incredibly kind and talkative! Both guides on both routes were excellent – a truly enriching experience and highly recommended.★

Takayama City Half-Day Tour, April 8th | Morning Market Fireworks, Tranquil Hachiman Shrine, Cherry Blossoms Along the River 🌸 Come to Takayama for this limited-time springtime experience that's gentle to the core. Start at the bustling Miyagawa Morning Market, where fresh fruits and vegetables, Hida snacks, and handmade crafts create a vibrant, down-to-earth atmosphere that soothes the soul. Slowly walk to Sakurayama Hachiman Shrine. The stone steps are serene, ancient trees reach for the sky, and a gentle breeze sends cherry blossoms fluttering down, so quiet you can only hear your own footsteps. Descend the mountain and walk along the Miyagawa River. Cherry blossoms drift on the water, landing on your shoulders. Strolling along the paths, your feet are on a soft carpet of grass and fallen blossoms, and looking up, you'll be greeted by a profusion of cherry blossoms in full bloom. Pink and white petals dance in the breeze, landing on your shoulders and the wooden path, filling the air with a delicate fragrance.
The most stunning sight is the 300-year-old Gassho-zukuri houses. Their pointed roofs resemble hands clasped in prayer, simple yet solemn, quietly telling tales of bygone eras. Stepping inside, the warm, rustic wooden structure and exquisite mortise and tenon joints create an atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional Dong village, where the familiar charm of traditional Eastern architecture washes over you.
