Yes, it was wonderful learning about history. Exceeded expectations. It was well preserved and restoration work is commendable. I would recommend this. It is a long tour, lots of working with very little toilet breaks. So prepare for that. Erman was great and very knowledgeable.

Pinar was amazing. She customized the tour to our desires on the fly and shared a lot of fantastic information about Ephesus. The van was comfortable. I booked direct with the company for our shore excursion and Pinar was right there when we disembarked and we were back at the ship with plenty of time to spare.

This is one of the most amazing places I’ve been in my life. Going with a tour guide makes it even better. I’ve never been to such will preserved ruins and to have a person to ask questions to, while you’re visiting allows a deeper experience. We had 2 hours to visit Ephesus which was much better than the 1 hour you apparently get from a cruise ship. We also visited the temple of Aphrodite and a leather factory.

I do not recommend coming to Izmir in the summer season. It is way too hot in Ephesus and the ruins are crowded. House of Virgin Mary was interesting and the water fountain tasted fresh. Tour guide of Crowded House tours was great and knowledgeable and kept us in the shade when it was possible, but the car that took us to the airport was barely able to cool us off because the heat was so strong here. 40+ degrees Celsius and the AC was always fighting a losing battle.
