I tried an eSIM card for the first time and was amazed at how easy it was to get one. I specifically bought the extended country package because I was on a Persian Gulf cruise. I had no issues anywhere, and the connection was excellent everywhere. I had plenty of data and speed. We bought a global e-SIM with 1GB per day (enough for instant messaging and Google Maps for two users, as it shares data). Our goal is to travel across four countries. We've traveled through two countries so far, and everything works fine. Initially, we had to manually configure the e-SIM because the hotspot for data tethering wasn't working. But it turned out to be easy to configure; the instructions given upon purchase were sufficient. So far, we're very happy.
