Reviews: Mumbai: Dharavi Slum, DhobiGhat, and Dabbawallas Tour

The experience with Dawood was wonderful. He's an excellent guide, explaining everything concisely and efficiently in English that everyone can understand. He took us to typical places that you'd struggle to visit and understand on your own. We were lucky enough to take the tour on one of the days when Holi, the Hindu festival of colors and love, is celebrated, and it was unique. Thanks again, Dawood. You're a professional, kind, cheerful guide with great vibes!

It was a very well-organized and informative day trip. Our driver, Surendra, picked us up punctually and directly from the hotel. After a quick breakfast, our guide, Rameez, led us through Mumbai and explained a great deal about Indian culture and life in Mumbai. After four hours, we took the ferry to the Elephanta Caves. There, our guide, Dave, showed us the caves and explained much about their history and religion. It was interesting, varied, and, thanks to our friendly guide, a wonderful day. We highly recommend the tour.

Ali gave such a refreshing authentic perspective on Mumbai sights and wider society. I loved walking through the markets and picking up fresh bread at the 'hole in the wall' bakery. Also the beautiful colonial era architecture. He provided great tips for after the tour and even accommodated my suitcase storage!

Reviews: From Mumbai: Half-Day Elephanta Caves Tour with Ferry Ride
Guest User2026-03-08
This Elephanta Caves tour booked through Trip.com was one of the highlights of my stay in Mumbai. Everything was very well organized, from the ferry transfer to the timing on the island, which made the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. The real star of the experience was our guide. His knowledge about the history, mythology, and symbolism of the caves was outstanding. Instead of simply pointing at the sculptures, he explained the fascinating stories behind them, especially the meaning of the Trimurti and the legends of Shiva. His explanations made the caves truly come alive. He was friendly, patient, had a great sense of humor, and answered every question with enthusiasm. You could really feel his passion for the history of this incredible place. Without a guide, you might just walk through the caves and take photos. With him, you actually understand what you are seeing. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mumbai.
Reviews: Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour

We really enjoyed the guided tour of the Elephanta Caves with Manoj. The guide was knowledgeable and explained the history, mythology, and symbolism of the sculptures in a clear and engaging way, which made the experience much more meaningful than exploring on our own. The stories behind the caves were explained with great detail and context. The pace of the tour was comfortable, and there was enough time to ask questions, take photos, and appreciate the site. The guide was also very attentive and was suggestingto take very nice pictures of us. Overall, it was a well-organized and informative tour that added real value to visiting this UNESCO World Heritage Site. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Mumbai.
