I was very satisfied with the trip overall. Our driver, Xiao Fan, was humorous and engaging, sharing fascinating insights into Japanese society along the way that left a lasting impression. While we weren't able to see the entirety of Mount Fuji, which was a bit disappointing, the scenery certainly didn't disappoint. The return trip was especially satisfying. Due to a traffic accident on the highway ahead, Xiao Fan decisively opted for a section of prefectural road, giving us the opportunity to truly appreciate the beauty of the Japanese countryside. Xiao Fan also reminded us that to see the entirety of Mount Fuji, we must arrive early, ideally staying overnight to get in early and enjoy the view. With an 8:00 am departure from Tokyo, the chances of seeing the entire mountain are slim.★

The tour was great. It was only 4 people and the driver was very nice. We didn’t see the mountain as it was cloudy, but we were taken to all the amazing places you could potentially see it. Worth the money, as you don’t have to wait for 50+ people from a bus tour!★

The overall itinerary was somewhat rushed due to Japanese driver service time regulations. The Takayama leg of the trip was particularly tight, mainly because completing a meal and a full visit to the Takayama Jinya (traditional Japanese houses) within two hours was quite strenuous. Two hours was more than enough for the Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri village. The tour guide was very professional and nice, and his explanations were quite interesting. The group members came from all over the world, with mainland Chinese tourists making up about 10%, making it a very international team.
