The day trip from Vienna to Hallstat was a fantastic experience. Our guide Sophia was very knowledgeable about Hallstat and also knowledgeable on the various places between Vienna and Hallstat. She also gave clear instructions and made sure all questions were answered promptly. A 10/10 experience!

Our guide explained the region and the country in great detail, was very helpful in every way, and our driver was excellent; we had a smooth journey there and back. It was a 13-hour trip, but very enjoyable.

The Wachau Valley beautifully reflects the stunning scenery along the Danube River and the cultural history of Austria and even Europe; Melk, though small, is a very distinctive town and should be considered a representative town of Austria.

It was a great trip! This was my third venture with GetYourGuide! This trip was a small group of five people, two couples and myself solo. Our driver and guide was named Kirin. A younger man that was able to share a lot of information. He would inform us as things came up while on the drive over to a layover point. At The layover point he would basically let us go for a certain amount of time but give us highlights over the general area. Since we were such a small group there was no need for headphones. Also this allowed for plenty of space for the initial 2-hour drive to Budapest and then the 1 hour drive returning from Bratislava to Vienna. The ride did take place in a minivan type vehicle. Fortunately we did not hear traffic like the day before which would allowed us to have extra time at some of our layover points. It was still a decent amount of walking but nothing excessive. Due to road construction, we were unable to make a pit stop on the way to Budapest.
