Reviews: 1-Day Xi'an Tour: Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum (Terracotta Army) + Huaqing Palace [Chinese/English Guide]
Guest User2026-04-05
I was delighted that this tour was led by our expert guide, Brother Zhang Hu. He was like a walking history book, providing detailed explanations of every historical site, building, and tree we visited. Traveling shouldn't just be a superficial experience; understanding the historical background and immersing oneself in the culture is far more important. Brother Zhang was incredibly attentive, resolving any issues quickly and effectively, and showing great care for each member of the group. I was extremely satisfied with this trip.
Reviews: Xi'an 1-day tour: Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum + Lishan Garden + Terracotta Figure Making with 5-seat vehicle and Chinese/English/Korean/Japanese guide

The explanations of our original destinations, the Terracotta Army and Huaqing Palace, were very clear and easy to understand. They also suggested additional tours on the day, allowing us to enjoy sightseeing beyond our original plan. Using a map app while explaining locations would be helpful for travelers, as it helps them visualize their next destination beforehand. It would have been helpful to be informed in advance if there are separate theatrical performances for Chinese and foreign audiences. We saw both performances, and both were very impressive; although there was an additional cost, it was well worth it.

The tour was very well organized, making the entire experience enjoyable and worry free. A car picked me up at my hotel before driving to the Terracotta Warriors exhibit. Our tour guide Iris was excellent, she was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the exhibit and Chinese history in general. I would highly suggest the tour because of the professionalism of the staff.

The Terracotta Army was an amazing sight, just as I had expected. The Song of Everlasting Sorrow was a spectacular performance with many sights of immense scale. I highly recommend it to travelers visiting Xi'an. Our local guide, Summer, was very professional and friendly, and her detailed explanations made it very informative, allowing us to easily understand the discovery process and characteristics of the Terracotta Army.

Picked up from our hotel near Bell Tower at 7:50am, reached the museum by 9:10am. Our guide, Ruby, was fantastic and shared great historical insights that made the trip worthwhile. Post-Qingming crowds were manageable. You may opt for a Virtual XR experience (CNY136). While it was relatively fun, I personally would've preferred to stay longer in the main Terracotta Warriors pits to explore. There was a temporary museum open during my visit, but we didn't have sufficient time. Lunch was mediocre but filling, and spice levels had been adjusted to suit foreigners. After, we visited Huaqing Palace; Ruby’s storytelling here was a highlight! The tour ended at 3:30PM. I waited for the 7:40 PM Song of Everlasting Sorrow show. The 4-hour gap was a bit long with little to do nearby, but the show was stunning  with minimal dialogue and easy to follow. Highly recommend middle seats! Caught the 1-hour show and took the shared bus back to Bell Tower by 10PM.
