Shiwan Great Mountain National Forest Park

Shiwandashan National Forest Park is located in the southern part of Shangsi County. It has a quiet environment and a pristine forest landscape. It is surrounded by continuous mountains, flowing springs and green forests, and the scenery is very charming. There are two main routes when visiting the Attraction. One is leading to the "Sleeping Buddha of Nanshan" (named so because when you look at Nanshan from here, the outline of Nanshan looks like a giant Buddha sleeping on its back), and the other is leading to the "Viewing the Sea at Shishan" (named so because the peak is the top of Shishan Mountain, where you can have a panoramic view of the sea view of Beibu Gulf). Most tourists will choose the second route. However, the distance from the gate of the Attraction to the top of the mountain is quite far. It takes about 3.5 hours to reach the top, and currently it is only accessible on foot. Tourists who want to reach the top are advised to set off early. If it is already late, it is recommended to go down the mountain immediately even if you have not reached the top of the mountain. If you choose the route to "Lion Mountain Sea Viewing", even if you don't reach the top of the mountain, the many scenic spots along the way will make you feel that the trip is worthwhile. The many naturally formed bathing pools along the way are good places to play in the water, and scenic spots such as the Dragon Robe Tree, the Love Net, and the Sancha River are also very charming.Shangsi · 31.9 km from downtown

Leshan Ancient Fishing Village is situated on the coast of the Qisha Peninsula in Fangchenggang. It is a small village on a peninsula extending into Beibuwan and is one of the best-preserved ancient fishing villages in Guangxi. The village features mottled stone houses interspersed with ancient blue brick walls, and it still retains watchtowers built for surveillance in the past, with traces of time faintly visible throughout the alleys. In front of the village lies an open shallow beach and mudflats. Mangroves grow in continuous stretches along the coast, and wooden boardwalks wind through the forest into the sea, connecting seaside viewing spots like the Sea-Viewing Pavilion and the Tide-Watching Platform. At high tide, you can see the blue sea and red mangroves, and waves crashing against the reefs. When the tide recedes, the mudflats are exposed, making it the perfect time for beachcombing. Digging for sand worms, picking clams, and catching small crabs are classic activities on these mudflats. Villagers make a living by farming and catching seafood such as sand worms, oysters, and mud crabs. The beach is filled with fishing boats. In the early morning, you can often see fishermen heading to the sea with baskets, and fish fillets and dried shrimp drying in front of the old houses. The authentic atmosphere of fishing life is palpable, and when you are tired from exploring, you can taste fresh seafood just brought ashore at the local fishing restaurants. In the evening, head to the Tide-Watching Platform or the Moon-Inviting Platform to wait for the sunset over the sea, slowly bringing the day to a close.Fangchenggang · 20.1 km from downtown

The Ten Thousand Mountains are truly delightful. Waterfalls cascade down the mountainside, forming numerous pools. Right at the entrance to the scenic area is a large medicinal pool, cool and refreshing – a truly soothing place to soak in on a hot summer day. Camping is available nearby; RVs or tents are both fine, costing only 30 yuan per night.

When you come to Bailang Beach, you have actually come to Wanwei Golden Beach, which is quite large. Walking from one end to the other, I can feel the beauty of the beach and the changes of the beach. I can see many small crabs crawling on it and a small dead fish lying on it. Local fishermen said that they will go to the other end of the beach to catch squids at night. This is my favorite activity.

Standing at the Dongxing Port National Gate Scenic Area, the five-star red flag flutters in the blue sky, the "China Dongxing" boundary marker stands majestically, and the China-Vietnam Friendship Bridge, like a giant steel dragon, spans the Beilun River, connecting the territories of the two countries. This is the southwesternmost border gate of the motherland's mainland coastline, separated from Mong Cai, Vietnam by only a hundred meters. Every inch of this land bears the imprint of "the majesty of a great power." Standing before the boundary marker and looking back, behind me lies a vast landscape, and before me, exotic scenery unfolds. The solemnity of the border and the strength of the motherland strike the heart at this moment!

-- READ THIS FOR FULL TRAVEL DETAILS --We did this trip without much information available online, so we might as well now share what we learned.GETTING THERE: The easiest starting point is Shangsi (上思) Town with many nice hotels to stay overnight. From there you can either get a driver to come here or take a local bus. We also asked around about renting an E-Scooter, but were recommended against that, because it is quite far. The bus leaves from 明江市场(西门) bus station (not the main bus station!), but at the other side of the street (in front of a pharmacy). It leaves at random timings (about every 20-45 minutes probably), so just go there early and wait for the next one. It's 10 Yuan per person, takes about one hour and will end right at the entrance of the park.GETTING BACK: The last bus will leave from the same spot at 4PM. Don't miss it :)FACILITIES: There are plenty of restaurants, small shops and a toilet around the ticket office (one ticket is 35 Yuan). Make sure to stack up in everything you might need: We did not see other toilets/ shops/ restaurants within the park, except for some herbal speciality souvenirs.THE SIGHTS: We were pleasengly surprised by the beautiful scenery and the trekking trails. We went on a Sunday during Chinese summer holidays and still there were very few other people. The nature is beautiful and you can walking next to a nice river stream.HIKING: We started going up a mountain peak (black path on the right side of the map). The path was super nice and lead straight through the jungle/ bamboo forest. Be aware though, that there are A LOT of steps to climb! Also, there is a sign at the path staring that the mountain round path takes 4 hours, so plan enough time.SWIMMING/ PLAYING IN THE WATER: A blessing after hiking! The water was just perfect: Nice and refreshing & super clean. Once you pass the second bridge there is even a natural swimming pool (slightly deeper water) with an improvised changing room for 1 Yuan.

When I traveled to Dongxing with my girlfriend, one place I must visit was the Dongxing Port. After all, passing this place is considered to be out of the country. Although the port is not open now, you can still see from going out that the entire port is well built. Compared with the port on the opposite side, our port is much more prosperous and developed. I asked the staff how to go to the opposite side, and the staff replied that it is better to stay here.

Although we came a little early, I don't feel sorry! Although we can't see the ebb and flow of the tide, at least we can go to the beach to play. When the tide is low, you can see sea shells on the beach. Along the long plank road, the rocks covered with shells are really cool!

The sky is really blue. It was too hot the day we went, so we didn't play outside for long. It was great~ I picked up shells and conchs of all sizes on the beach, picked out the right size and put them in this grid. It's like a miniature ocean museum, both beautiful and meaningful~

The same rocky beach as Weizhou Island, you only need to pay the parking fee to unlock it. Compared with Weizhou Island, which has both boat tickets and island fees, the cost performance is simply too high! The scenery is beautiful when the weather is good! The photos are super good! And the sea water is very clear and clean! It's the legendary glass sea!

Fangchenggang City World Style Pedestrian Street is located on Jiangang Road in the Port District of the city. It is a clearly named pedestrian street in the city and one of the busiest pedestrian streets in the area. There are also attractions such as Beigang Hometown Historical and Cultural Center worth visiting.

In the 11th year of Emperor Guangxu's reign (1885), the Qing government and France signed the Sino-French-Vietnamese Treaty in Tianjin. The following year (1886), the Qing government sent personnel to meet with French boundary surveyor Dillon to survey the Sino-Vietnamese border. In the 16th year of Emperor Guangxu's reign (1890), the then prefect of Qinzhou and French officials jointly signed the "Boundary Treaty" and erected a stone boundary here, so it was called "Boundary Monument No. 1 of the Great Qing Dynasty". "Boundary Monument No. 1" is a symbol of the vicissitudes of the motherland. In fact, this boundary monument is surrounded by Chinese territory. A few dozen meters away from the boundary monument is the Beilun River. The real border between China and Vietnam is in the middle of the Beilun River, which is naturally not suitable for building boundary monuments. Therefore, this boundary monument only serves as an "indication" rather than a "definition". On the other side of the river, on the Vietnamese territory, there is also a boundary monument erected by the Vietnamese side, which also serves as an "indication".
