"Gili" means island in the local language, and "Gili Island" refers specifically to the three small islands just off the northwest coast of Lombok. awesome island. very quiet but it has a few resturants. you will get to witness island life first hand with kids having school lessons on the beach. great for a short stay or day trip if you want to completely unwind.
