Old Man of Storr is located in the northeast of the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands, United Kingdom, and is situated on the ridge of the Trotternish Peninsula. It is one of the most recognizable natural landmarks on the island. It is famous for its unique volcanic landscape and towering rock pinnacles, surrounded by steep cliffs, scattered boulders, rolling slopes, and expansive coastal views. On clear days, you can also enjoy distant views of the surrounding mountains and the sea. This landscape was formed by an ancient landslide, and the rock layers have undergone long geological evolution to form the distinctive rock formations seen today. When visiting, you can start from the car park and hike along the mountain trail to the vicinity of the rock pinnacles, where you can observe the rock structures, grassy vegetation, and the natural scenery of the Isle of Skye.Portree · 10.6 km from downtown

Kilt Rock is an iconic coastal landform view on the island. The rocks here are primarily composed of basalt, dolerite, and sandstone. Through long-term geological evolution, they have formed towering, straight, and clearly textured cliffs, with the color and arrangement of the rock layers giving the cliff face a unique striped effect. The vertically arranged rock columns and horizontally distributed rock layers on the cliff face intersect to create an appearance resembling the pleats of a traditional Scottish kilt. Facing the Sound of Raasay, the cliffs drop straight from the heights to the rugged coastline, showcasing distinct layering and a rugged geological form. Standing in the viewing area, you can observe the vertical texture of the cliff face up close, and also look out over the sound and the mountains of the Scottish mainland in the distance.Portree · 22.2 km from downtown

Loch Portree is located in the northeastern part of the Isle of Skye in the United Kingdom and is the central body of water for Portree, the island's main town. As a natural sheltered harbor, the lakeshore is surrounded by a cluster of colorful stone houses. These buildings, primarily in shades of pastel blue and goose yellow, reflect against the blue waves, creating an iconic view of the Scottish Highlands. Fishing boats moored at the harbor and anglers create a vivid daily scene, and visitors can experience short boat trips here, occasionally encountering dolphins leaping from the sea or wild seabirds circling for food. The area around the lake retains its original ecological landscape, with multiple hiking trails extending along the lake, connecting natural features such as alder forests and sea cliffs. Both Staffin Bay to the northeast and Neist Point Lighthouse to the northwest can be reached via trails, where you can view basalt landforms formed during the Jurassic period along the way. As the transportation hub of the Isle of Skye, the town of Portree offers dining and stay facilities. The name "Portree" is derived from Gaelic and means "King's Port." Standing on the edge of a cliff that plunges straight into the seabed like a knife, the early winter climate makes everything in the distance a little foggy. Unlike the clear sky with white clouds floating in the sky, it looks like it is covered with a veil.

Skye is one of the largest islands in the Scottish Highlands. It is sparsely populated, but has become a popular tourist destination in recent years. The scenery on the island is very beautiful in summer. If the weather is good, the scenery here is not inferior to Norway.

So I barely managed to take a photo of Mealt Fall. The rock in front is called Kilt Rock because its texture looks like a Scottish skirt. Continue north and you will reach Quiraing, which I have been dreaming about. You can turn left after passing Staffin (there is no road sign, so be careful). This road is a bit rough, and there are several sections that are one-way, but the hairpin bends at the back are the real test. This landform appeared in "The Hobbit" and several other movies. You can reach the top after turning two hairpin bends. The difficulty is that the slope is large and vans often drive up, so it is easy to get stuck when passing. Now turn west to Fairy Glen. The road to Uig is still a bumpy one-lane road, but it is not a big problem if you drive slowly. This village (?) is very small, with a gas station, convenience store and several restaurants. For lunch, I recommend The Sheiling and Ella's, which has a variety of British simple meals and home-baked bread, and costs about 15 pounds.

Built in 1909, Cape Nestor Lighthouse is located at the northwestern corner of Skye Island, high up on the cliffs. It is completely different from the lighthouses on the coast. People say it is a lighthouse standing on the edge of the world.

Dunvegan Castle is a castle located in Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye off the west coast of Scotland. It is the seat of MacLeod, the chief of the MacLeod clan. Dunvegan Castle is the oldest continuously inhabited castle in Scotland and has been the center of the MacLeod clan for nearly 800 years. Before Scotland merged with England to form Great Britain, the many islands in northwest Scotland were mainly controlled by two powerful clans. The MacLeod and the MacDonald. The two clans fought for almost a thousand years. The castle has many important family relics, the most important of which are the "Fairy Flag" and the "Dunvegan Cup". The Dunvegan Fairy Flag is the family's most treasured and valuable possession. The fabric was once dyed yellow and is silk from the Middle East (Syria or Rhodes), and experts have determined that it dates to between the 4th and 7th centuries AD. The 28th head of the MacLeod family, Mrs. Flora Louisa Cecilia MacLeod, was born on February 3, 1878 and died on November 4, 1976. She opened the castle to the public. Now, the head of the family has reached the 30th generation. The family members are spread all over the world.
