This approximately 830-acre site dates back to the Middle Ages, originally serving as the deer park of Groby Manor, used for hunting by the nobility. It was officially recorded as "Bradgate Park" in 1241, and for several centuries became the private estate of a local noble family. It wasn't until 1928 that industrialist Charles Benyon purchased it and donated it to the people of Leicestershire, where it became a public nature park. The park boasts a diverse landscape, with winding woodland paths, open meadows, and a meandering forest river.
