The Neptune’s Cave is located by the sea near Alghero and was discovered by fishermen in the 18th century. The cave is filled with stalagmites and stalactites. The total length of the cave is estimated to be approx. 4 km, but only a few hundred meters are open to visitors. Necropolis of Anghelu Ruju
The Necropolis of Anghelu Ruju is a large-scale pre-Nuragic archaeological site in northern Sardinia, located in the I Piani area near Alghero, just a few km from the airport. This burial site was accidentally discovered in 1903 and consists of 38 rock-cut tombs known as "Domus de Janas" (Fairy Houses), carved approximately 4,200 to 1,600 years ago. The tombs feature two types of entrances: vertical shafts and horizontal corridors, with symbolic carvings of false doors, bull horns, and other motifs on the interior walls, reflecting the ancient people's beliefs about the afterlife.
