Mount Fuji, which means "volcano" in Japanese, spans Shizuoka and Yamanashi prefectures. This mountain, regarded as the "Holy Mt." by the Japanese, has been dormant since its eruption in 1707. This dormant volcano is a symbol of Japan. Of course, if you want to experience the natural scenery of Mt. Fuji and its surroundings up close, the Fuji Five Lakes area under the northern mountain of Mt. Fuji is a good choice. The reflection of Mt. Fuji in Kawaguchi Lake is a very classic scene, it is worth seeing, the nearby Oshino Hachi The sea is also famous. Peace Park in the southeast is a good choice for viewing Mount Fuji. On a sunny day and there is no cloud cover, you can clearly see the conical peak of Mount Fuji. In autumn and winter, you can also see the snow on the top of the mountain, which is particularly beautiful. Every year from mid-September to mid-October, the top of Mount Fuji begins to snow, and it will not melt until around June of the following year, and the residual snow can even be seen in mid-July. You can climb Mount Fuji in July and August, and the mountain will be closed in other seasons. There are four main mountain climbing entrances on Mount Fuji, namely Fujinomiyaguchi, Sugoguchi, Gotembaguchi, and Fujiyoshida (Kawaguchiko) entrance. The first three are all in Shizuoka Prefecture. It is divided into 10 stages from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain. Each stage is called a "station", and there is a place for tourists to rest. Most tourists take the bus from Lake Kawaguchi to the fifth station of Mount Fuji on the middle of the mountain, and then start from here. mountaineering. Climbing to the top of Mount Fuji, you can see a beautiful volcanic lake formed by two craters, surrounded by 8 peaks. Along the crater tour, there is a weather station, which is the commanding height of Japan. You may wish to take a group photo. There are two shrines, namely Kusushi Shrine and Sengen Shrine. There is also a post office on the top of the mountain, where you can send a postcard to friends and relatives. . In addition, watching the sunrise on Mount Fuji will be an unforgettable and beautiful experience. In addition to Mount Fuji itself, the scenery around the mountain is also very good. There are caves left after the volcanic eruption at the northern foot of the mountain, with various shapes and shapes, and some of them will continue to exhale. Among them, the walls of the Fuyue Feng Cave are covered with stalactite-like icicles, which are called "Wannianxue". The southern foothills is a vast plateau pasture with beautiful scenery all year round, and there are many places for leisure activities, such as camping, swimming and fishing in summer, and skiing and skating in winter.Fujinomiya · 15.5 km from Mount Fuji

Izu Peninsula

Izu Peninsula is a peninsula formed by volcanic activity. Two of the world's rare volcanic arcs converge here, creating a diverse landscape interwoven with hot springs, volcanic rock coasts, and mountain valleys. The peninsula is surrounded by the sea on three sides, offering a rich variety of scenery, from rugged coastlines to the dense forests and deep valleys of the Amagi Mountains. Hot springs are Izu's signature attraction. Shuzenji Onsen is said to have been established over 1,000 years ago and is a historic hot spring town on the peninsula. The hot spring street is built along the Katsura River, featuring the serene and deep Bamboo Forest Path, with Tokko-no-yu resting quietly in between. Atami and Ito on the east coast offer a different vacation atmosphere, where hotels stand by the sea, allowing you to enjoy ocean views while soaking in the hot springs. Traces of volcanic activity can be found all over the peninsula. Jogasaki Coast is a volcanic rock coast formed after lava from the eruption of Mt. Omuro approx. 4,000 years ago flowed into the sea, cooled, and was eroded by waves over many years. It spans approx. 9 km, and the Kadowaki Suspension Bridge hangs over the cliffs. Mt. Omuro itself is a perfectly round volcanic cone, and you can see a panoramic view of Izu from the summit. Dogashima on the west coast is famous for its sea caves; when you take a boat into Tensodo Cave, light pours down from the gap in the ceiling onto the water, creating a blue glow. Seafood is also a major feature of Izu. Being surrounded by the sea on three sides makes the local seafood exceptionally fresh. Splendid alfonsino is a representative local fish species, commonly found in hot spring hotels and coastal restaurants.Izu City · 67.6 km from Mount Fuji

Mount Fuji is one of those iconic places that never fails to impress. Seeing Japan's tallest mountain standing majestically against the sky is truly a memorable experience. I love how the scenery changes depending on the season, from cherry blossoms in spring to colourful autumn leaves and snow-covered peaks in winter. Every angle seems to offer a different postcard-worthy view! My personal tip is to allow some flexibility in your itinerary because the weather can affect visibility. If you're lucky enough to catch Fuji on a clear day, it's a sight worth remembering!

As the cable car slowly ascended, the world outside the window gradually sank below. First, the rows of hotel rooftops appeared, then the lakeside road stretched out like a gray ribbon. Lake Kawaguchi below slowly revealed its full form—no longer just a glimmer of water, but a vast, warm, lustrous piece of jade, carefully cradled in the palm of the surrounding dark green mountains. The moment the cable car passed the treetops, Mount Fuji appeared. It was there, as if it had always been. The snow-capped peak that had required so much effort to look up from the lakeside was now almost level with my eyes. The clouds moved quickly, casting flowing shadows on the conical mountain, and the outline of the snow trembled slightly between the light and shadow, like a long, frozen sigh. At the foot of the mountain, the "Fuji Five Lakes" are like scattered mirrors, with Lake Kawaguchi being the brightest, reflecting the sky and the shadows of the mountains, as well as our slowly moving gondola—we look at the mountains, and the mountains also see themselves in its clear pupils.

Lake Kawaguchi is a must-see when visiting, especially for those few days. I saw Mount Fuji from various angles every day. Photos of Mount Fuji are best taken on a clear day; otherwise, you might not be able to get a good shot.

Price is about the same as buying over the counter, except that we didnt have to queue in line. It's basically a skywalk with a nice view of Mt Fuji. Skywalk seems new. There were also ziplines right beside the skywalk that kids were playing (requires additional cost to play). Across the bridge, there were some food stalls, restaurant and an animal petting store. Overall good for about 2hours.

Oshino Hakkai is a charming town surrounded by stunning scenery, with a clear view of Mt. Fuji from the village. The history of this place is fascinating, especially the crystal-clear ponds, which are incredibly beautiful. The water is cold and clean, and we enjoyed watching trout swimming around, making it an unforgettable experience. We also tried some local food, including grilled fish, fresh fruit, and sweet treats. Additionally, we purchased some souvenirs at very reasonable prices. Absolutely love this place!

Summer Vacation Itinerary for Kids and Two Elderly People to Kawaguchiko - Day 3 [Smiling face][Grinning face] The day before, we split into two groups and visited the popular Lawson convenience store (Kawaguchiko Station store), the station crossing, and the Oishi Park on the north shore; FabCafe Fuji and Nikkawa Watch Shop in the "Ladder Town" area. The ladies did some street photography, while the elderly enjoyed a relaxing stroll. [Smiling face][Grinning face] On the third day, we were heading back to Tokyo. We bought bus tickets to Tokyo Station two days in advance (approximately one bus per hour from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM). Our hotel was near Tokyo Station. We booked return bus tickets for 1:30 PM; the online and offline prices were the same, and it was still possible to buy tickets two days in advance. Our hotel near Lake Fuji required check-out at 10 AM, and it was very busy, so late check-out was practically impossible. Therefore, we went for a boat tour on Lake Kawaguchi in the morning. It was only 400 meters from the hotel, the boat trip lasted 20 minutes, and cost only 40 yen – a great value! [Smiling face][Grinning face] After breakfast, we packed our luggage and left it at the hotel. The hotel uses a self-service luggage storage system with a transportation card. After swiping the card, one end unlocked a steel cable fixed to the wall, and after locking it, we retrieved our luggage using the transportation card – very convenient. We walked to the pier, where there was a small lounge for waiting for the ship. [Smiling face][Grinning face] The weather was great, and we could see the mountains. We could go up to the second-floor terrace on the deck for photos. If we didn't want to be in the sun, we could go back to the cabin where there was air conditioning. Everyone agreed that this itinerary was excellent. Autumn holidays are just around the corner, so those planning a trip should consider this itinerary. The morning is better for viewing the mountains. There are restaurants, a Kawaguchiko Fuji specialty cookie shop, a cable car, and more near the pier.

The driver, Master Chen, is very enthusiastic, responsible and patient. The child dropped his phone in the scenic area, and he ran all the way back to communicate with the staff to find it. Let the child's trip to Japan be happy and perfect. Thank you very much for such a private guide driver, thank you🙏

I really like the scenery, quietness and hot springs of the Izu Peninsula, and of course the restaurants with pure Japanese menus. Although it is a bit embarrassing, it is super exciting; I look forward to visiting in three weeks.
