The ruins of Delphi are religious sites in the classical period of Greece. The ruins are located in the foothills of Parnassos, northwest of Athens. They are named after the Delphi people who lived there. Founded in the 7th century BC, it was considered the center of the world in ancient Greece, the religious center and a symbol of unity in ancient Greece. Delphi is the more important temple in all the Greek places, because this temple is dedicated to the sun god Apollo, the god of knowledge, light, music and medicine in the ancient Greek beliefs. There are also an open-air theater and a holy road in the ruins area. On both sides of the holy road, there are gift vaults, altars, monuments, colonnades, etc. built by the Greek states to worship the gods. Archaeological excavations of the Delphi site system started in 1892, and all the ancient buildings in the temple area have been cleared and a museum has been built.Phocis · 32.3 km from downtown

The Archaeological Museum of Delphi is located not far outside the town. The building designed by the famous museum architect Patro Claus is built on the mountain. The style is calm and restrained, and it is almost integrated with the surrounding environment. I don't know the details, but I don't feel that this is one of the most important collections of ancient Greek art. There are 11 exhibition rooms in the museum, which display cultural relics from the classical period to the Roman era, including many masterpieces. The collections are mainly statues of various materials from nearby ancient ruins. Therefore, we must appreciate these masterpieces of art, which were mainly dedicated to God in those years, together with their environment and historical background, in order to understand their connotations. Treasures found at the site range from a life-size silver bull, the sphinx with the sphinx that once guarded the temple, or the intricately shaped statues of the twin brothers Coriobis and Byton. , they were originally offerings to the gods, and now they are in the collection of the museum.Phocis · 32.3 km from downtown

Since development began in the late 19th century, visitors have flocked to the site. It is said to have been the spiritual center of the ancient world. For the Greek gods, Delphi was one of the most important sanctuaries. The temple was dedicated to Apollo, the sun god. In ancient Greek belief, Apollo was the god of knowledge, light, music, and medicine. Visitors can sense the greatness of Apollo here. At the site, the Temple of Apollo now has only 7 columns of varying heights remaining. Amid the broken pillars and tiles, you can see the square temple core and a Z-shaped sacred way up the slope. Flanking the sacred way are stables, treasuries for offerings, and monuments honoring the holy sites, followed by colonnades and altars, and a semicircular open-air theater and stadium that can seat 5,000 people.Delphi · 0m from downtown

The ruins of Ancient Delphi are on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Walk into the ruins, walk up the stone steps to the ruins, stand in front of the ruins, and look out at the mountains in the distance. This is the center of the earth.

It is in centralize location, located at the shopping area, very convenient, once you come out from the hotel, there are everything. Acropolis is about 15 - 20 min walk (depends on your speed). Hotel staff are very friendly. Book the Acropolis view room, just to pay a bit more to enjoy the view…
