Piazza del Duomo is located in the center of Milan, surrounded by many important buildings, including the landmark of Milan, the cathedral. The square gradually developed with the construction of the cathedral and was named after it. In the center of the square stands the equestrian bronze statue of Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. Around the square, there are also a series of important buildings such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the neoclassical-style royal palace, and the cathedral museum. On the square, you can see flocks of leisurely strolling pigeons, and sometimes in the evening, you may encounter impromptu street performances. The area near the square is home to many shopping malls, boutiques, and high-end restaurants, making it a well-known leisure and shopping district in Milan.Italy · Milan

Santa Maria delle Grazie is located in the west of Milan, on the south side of the Sforza Castle. This red Catholic building consists of a church and a Dominican monastery. It is famous for the fresco "The Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci in the monastery's refectory. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980. . The Last Supper "The Last Supper" was created by Leonardo da Vinci in the 15th century, using innovative and bold painting techniques combining oil and tempera, creating a unique perspective effect, but also easily eroded. On August 15, 1943, the church and the congregation were bombed by British and American aircraft, and most of the canteen of the congregation was destroyed, but the wall on which The Last Supper was located survived. Centuries later, 80 percent of the painting's colors had faded, and restoration work began in 1977 and continued for 22 years. At present, the number of visitors is strictly controlled, and the number of visitors cannot exceed 30 at a time. In addition to the "Last Supper", the church building itself is also worth seeing. The church was built under the auspices of Duke Sforzesco and was finally completed in 1490. It was once used as the tomb of the Sforzesco family. Later, when the French invaded, the cultural relics and treasures in the church were looted, but the exquisite dome and frescoes were still preserved. The sacristy is now the Dominican cultural center, and often holds some salons and art exhibitions.Italy · Milan

Lake Zurich is a glacial lake on the Swiss Plateau, formed by glacial erosion. It is shaped like a crescent moon and stretches nearly 30 km southeast from downtown Zurich. The lakeshore slopes gently, with vineyards and orchards spread out in layers on the gentle slopes. On clear days, standing by the lake and looking south, the outline of the Alps is clearly visible. The lakeside promenade is flat and easy to walk. Strolling, jogging, picnicking, and sunbathing are daily pastimes for locals. In summer, the lakeside swimming areas are popular, and jumping into the water for a few laps is a common way for residents in this area to cool off. There are year-round boat services, allowing you to travel from the pier at the city's lake outlet all the way to Rapperswil at the southeastern end, offering a different perspective of the gentle slopes and small towns on both banks. Swans and wild ducks are frequent visitors here, often swimming in groups to the shore and leisurely circling around visitors' feet.Stafa · 51 km from Saint Gallen

Lake Como is a lake carved by glacial movement, covering an area of 146 square kilometers and shaped like an inverted Y. The lake reaches depths of over 400 m, making it one of the deepest lakes in Europe. Surrounded on three sides by thefoothills of the Alps, the shoreline is long and winding, and the mild microclimate regulated by the lake allows Mediterranean plants like olives and citrus to grow along the shores, creating a distinct transition from the alpine vegetation on the hillsides. For centuries, the scenery of Lake Como has attracted numerous artists. French novelist Flaubert, and composers Rossini, Verdi, and Bellini have all drawn inspiration here. The eastern shore also features hiking trails restored from ancient paths, where you can climb to enjoy a panoramic view of the confluence of the lake's two branches and take in the beautiful scenery.Italy · Menaggio
Marienplatz

Marienplatz

Marienplatz is the central square of Munich's old town. Since the founding of Munich in 1158, it has been the city's main square. The old and new town halls stand on the north and east sides of the square respectively, making it the true "urban living room" of Munich. Below the square is an important hub where suburban trains and subways intersect. Most attractions in the old town are within walking distance from here, and many travelers choose Marienplatz as the starting point for their Munich visit. When FC Bayern Munich wins championships, the team traditionally waves to fans on the square from the town hall balcony. At the center of the square stands the Marian column erected in 1638, featuring a golden statue of the Virgin Mary standing on a crescent moon, holding a scepter in her right hand and cradling the infant Jesus in her left. The base of the column is adorned with bronze statuettes of angels subduing mythical beasts at each corner, now serving as the visual focal point of the square. To the north, the new town hall is a dark-spired Gothic Revival building. Its tower houses a glockenspiel that performs daily at 11 am and noon, with upper puppets reenacting a medieval jousting tournament and lower puppets performing the traditional Bavarian coopers' dance. The show concludes with a golden rooster crowing, and the square is often packed with travelers looking up in anticipation before the performance begins. Opposite the town hall entrance lies the Fischbrunnen, a bronze wishing fountain dating back to the Middle Ages. According to local tradition, people wash their wallets in its waters on Ash Wednesday to invite financial luck. To the east, the old town hall boasts elegant spires, harmonizing with the onion-domed Frauenkirche to the northwest. The south tower of the Frauenkirche offers elevator access to its summit, providing a splendid vantage point to overlook the old town's red-tiled roofs and gaze at the distant Alps. Though the square itself is compact, it encapsulates centuries of Munich's history within its surrounding architecture, remaining vibrant at any time of visit.Germany · Munich
Rigi

Rigi

Rigi is renowned as the "queen of the mountains" and serves as the Alpine foothills extending into Switzerland's central plateau. On clear days, standing at the Rigi Kulm viewing platform and gazing northeast, one's view stretches across the Swiss plateau dotted with lakes, all the way to Germany's Black Forest and France's Vosges Mountains. Turning around reveals the continuous Alpine peaks and the azure Lake Lucerne at the foot. On sunny mornings, the summit often gathers travelers who come specifically to witness the Alpine sunrise, a quintessential experience of this mountain. As early as the 19th century, this was a favored holiday destination for European high society, with cultural figures like Victor Hugo having reached the summit. In 1868, Queen Victoria of England also ascended by sedan chair. Today, the ascent remains distinctive: the cogwheel railway from Vitznau, built in 1871, is one of Europe's earliest mountain railways; from Goldau, a cogwheel railway also leads directly to the summit. If starting from Weggis, you can take a cable car to enjoy aerial views of the lake and mountains before arriving at Kaltbad midway up the mountain. This mountain features gentle slopes, with over a hundred km of walking trails extending layer by layer along one side. The area boasts a rich variety of alpine flowers, including a dedicated mountain flower path that offers a particularly pleasant stroll during blooming seasons. A scenic, gradual slope trail from the summit takes approx. 2 hrs to complete, presenting lovely views with minimal physical demand. The mid-mountain resort of Kaltbad is ideal year-round: winter activities include skiing, sledding, ice skating, and cross-country skiing, with beginners able to enroll in ski school courses. Scattered across the slopes are restaurants, hotels, and holiday apartments featuring terraces and viewpoints—perfect for resting tired legs while dining with panoramic lake and mountain views.Arth · 77.6 km from Saint Gallen

Landmark Significance: As the city center of Milan, the square is an irregularly shaped polygon covering approximately 12,000 square meters. It was the coronation site of the first king after the unification of Italy (Napoleon was crowned here in 1805) and is now part of a World Heritage Site.

Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe is one of Switzerland’s most spectacular mountain destinations, offering an unforgettable experience high in the Swiss Alps. Surrounded by magnificent snow-covered peaks, vast glaciers, and breathtaking alpine scenery, the journey to the summit is an adventure itself. The panoramic views from the top are truly mesmerizing, especially on a clear day when the mountains seem to stretch endlessly into the horizon. Walking through the snowy landscape feels like entering a winter wonderland. The impressive Aletsch Glacier adds even more beauty to the experience. Jungfraujoch is a must-visit destination for travelers who love mountains, snow, photography, and extraordinary natural landscapes.

Lake Constance is bordered by Austria, Switzerland and Germany. The side of Lake Constance in Germany where we live is the Port of Fiteli. We like to take a boat from the Port of Fiteli to the other side of the lake. The whole journey is on the lake. There are many trips a day on that boat. The whole journey takes 50 minutes one way. We go to the mall on the other side and return after shopping. Lake Constance is very beautiful. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom. The Alps can be seen from the direction of Switzerland.

It's a very inconspicuous house. If it wasn't built right next to the National Parliament, or if you hadn't made a travel guide in advance, you wouldn't have known it was a world-class philatelic destination. There's no sign outside, and the stamps are dazzling.

Marienplatz is the heart of Munich and one of the city’s most popular attractions. The square is surrounded by beautiful historic buildings, lively cafés, and many shops, creating a vibrant atmosphere. I enjoyed watching the famous Glockenspiel show at the New Town Hall, where the moving figures performed every day. The area was full of street performers and visitors, making it a fun place to walk around. It was also a great place to take photos and explore the nearby streets, restaurants, and local stores. Overall, Marienplatz is a perfect place to experience the history, culture, and energy of Munich. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

Amazing view from the top. A 360° view of the snowcapped mountains in the distance and lakes below. The view from the train up was also amazing with the view of the lake and mountain at a really steep angle. Get the ferry from Lucerne and you've got a spectacular view all the way. There's another older train from the top that goes on route b through the valley round the back but there's not much to see as it's mostly through the forest.
