Shwedagon Pagodais located on the summit of Singuttara Hill in Yangon, Myanmar, and is an iconic city landmark in Yangon. The golden pagoda towers into the clouds, standing out prominently on the city skyline and attracting tourists and devout Buddhist believers from all over the world. Whether at the first light of dawn or during the sunset in the evening, the entire pagoda shines with a warm and solemn radiance under the light. After nightfall, the lights illuminate the pagoda, making it appear even more magnificent and sacred, becoming an unforgettable view in Yangon. The main pagoda is nearly 100m tall and is conical in shape, with its body covered in gold leaf, appearing from a distance like a golden pagoda reaching straight into the sky. Thousands of gold and silver bells hang around the pagoda. When a breeze blows, they chime softly, adding a touch of liveliness to this solemn Buddhist holy site. The pagoda's crown is inlaid with numerous diamonds and rubies, and the spire is set with a giant diamond of several dozen carats, which sparkles in the sunlight.Myanmar · Kyauktada

Yangon's Chinatown has a history of hundreds of years, gathering about 150,000 local Chinese and overseas Chinese. The scene on the street looks a bit like China in the 1960s, and the old and simple tones make people imagine. The century-old Guanyin Temple (known locally as Guangdong Temple) is a popular gathering place for tourists. During the day, there is a lot of traffic in front of the temple, and the inside of the temple is crowded and very lively. Visitors can come here to chat with the temple guards about their hometown. When the lights are on, the sidewalk in front of the temple becomes a night market selling watermelon, small oranges, big durians and other fruits and clothes. In addition to numerous small commodity stores and snack bars, Chinatown also has Chinese ancestral halls and temples. Many Chinese have opened restaurants here, and Chinese food such as dumplings and ramen is readily available. Tourists who love Chinese food can eat more authentic Chinese food here.Myanmar · Kyauktada

Sule Pagoda is a landmark in downtown Yangon, and the city radiates outward from this pagoda. It stands 46m tall, is gilded, and has an octagonal base. Legend has it that the pagoda was built over 2,000 years ago after monks returned from India with sacred relics, and it was named after Sule, a guardian spirit from the era of the Kakusana Buddha. Inside, it houses a statue of Sule, the guardian spirit of the sacred hill where the Shwedagon Pagoda stands.Myanmar · Kyauktada

Taking a hot air balloon ride is one of Bagan's must-see experiences. From a high altitude, you can overlook the ancient city with more than 2,000 temples and pagodas, as well as the Bagan Plain. Especially when the sun rises, the scene of the Thousand Pagodas and the hot air balloons is very shocking. The main thing to note is that during the rainy season from April to October every year, hot air balloons cannot fly, so please make travel plans in advance.Myanmar · Nyaung-U

The Jodhaki Temple of Reclining Buddha enshrines the largest indoor reclining Buddha statue in the country. This large reclining Buddha is 20 meters long and 5.4 meters high. It was built in 1907. After various natural disasters, it officially became the current large reclining Buddha statue in 1960 . Originally a huge open-air seated Buddha, it was transformed into its present appearance with a huge amount of Burmese jade. The facial decoration of the reclining Buddha is very beautiful, not only the eyeballs made of glass inlaid are clear and divine, but also the eyelashes are thick and slender. The Buddha's right hand lightly supported his head, and his eyes were watching all beings. His expression was open-minded and serene, as if he was listening to the devout prayers of the believers. Behind the head of the reclining Buddha is the guardian deity representing the birth week. If you bring a camera, you may wish to extend the lens to find your “guardian deity”. There are 108 Buddha feet carved on the sole of the foot of the reclining Buddha, which represents the 108 reincarnations of a person. Each box shows an image in the cycle of six paths, and the English next to it explains the meaning of each image one by one. 59 of them are the human world, 21 are the animal world, and 28 are the gods' world, representing the lofty meaning of transcending these levels and not reincarnating in the Three Realms. At the feet of the reclining Buddha is the shrine of the saint Masai, who has the power to stop the rain and protect the safety of merchants and sailors. At the end of the big foot, there is a platform for photographers to take pictures, where you can take a detailed picture of the bottom of the big foot and the head of the reclining Buddha. In addition to the reclining Buddha, the Shweminwon Sasana Yeiktha Meditation Center here attracts a large number of local believers to meditate here.Myanmar · Yangon

The Ruixi Palace Pagoda is located west of Liangwu Town and on the south bank of the Irrawaddy River. It was completed in 1102 AD. It is the oldest temple in Bagan, and it is also a building made of stones. It creates the classic style of the local pagoda shape, which is the prototype of Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. There are a Buddha tooth and some Buddha bones in the Ruixi Palace Pagoda, and there are many local people who worship here. Before coming to the temple, you need to take off your shoes and walk into a 100-meter long corridor. There are many small vendors on both sides of the promenade, selling some handicrafts, and occasionally encounter a few little monks in red robes. Go to the end of the promenade, the names of the donors and the amount of donations are written on the walls on both sides. When you step out of the promenade, you can see the glittering Shwedagon Pagoda, like a miniature version of Shwedagon Pagoda. There are many pigeons on the edge of the tower, a peaceful atmosphere. Every morning, many Buddhist believers come here to pray, and the face of devout worship is impressive. The main body of the pagoda is painted with red lacquer, with a layer of gold foil attached to the outside, and the surrounding instruments and sculptures are gilded. The Ruixi Palace Tower is surrounded by 53 sculptures, including a lion, a macara (an animal that resembles a crocodile), and a toad. The base of the stupa consists of a three-tiered platform, and its treads are green wooden boards carved with traditional theatrical scenes, but it is not currently possible to climb the pagoda. It is said that buying a piece of gold foil and sticking it on the relief under the tower will bring blessings. The side hall outside the pagoda has uniform red lacquer pillars, and the top is decorated with gilt gold pagoda. A small Buddhist chapel on the southeast side of the pagoda is dedicated to 37 patron saints of the Kingdom of Bagan. The whole temple is particularly shining in the afternoon sun. There is also a small pool on the ground in front of the pagoda. You can see the reflection of the canopy on the top of the pagoda in the water, which is very interesting. In addition, a side hall in the backyard of the temple has a beautiful parquet tile floor, which is a good place to rest in the shade. After sunset, the pagoda will light up, and the dazzling Ruixi Palace Pagoda under the stars has a unique flavor.Myanmar · Nyaung-U

Aung San Market mainly sells cultural relics, jewelry, jade, wood carvings, ethnic costumes, etc. I didn't see many people inside, probably because of the situation in Myanmar, but I still saw a wide variety of goods, and the locals were friendly. If you are not interested in these goods, an hour of sightseeing is enough.

It is the founding pagoda, the prototype of modern pagodas in Myanmar, and one of the four most famous pagodas in Myanmar. It is not only the largest pagoda in the Bagan area, but also the only pagoda built of stone in the Bagan pagoda complex. It has a long history and is the first Burmese-style pagoda. I like it here very much!

The old secretariat during the British colonial rule, with the central building built in 1902 and the east and west wing buildings built in 1905, covers an area of nearly 16 hectares. The guided tour costs $10 and mainly visits the old Yangon Parliament and the west wing building where General Aung San and six ministers were assassinated in 1947. After the guided tour, you can also stroll outside the red and yellow Victorian colonial-style building to take photos.
