I'm from São Miguel, with pride. Yesterday I went with a friend to visit the factory.
Before we arrived I said wonderful things about the place, little did I know how I would be (mis)treated by the management and staff.
Due to an oncological disease, I am a priority and I was accompanied by a service dog. I went in and they left me sitting at the table with my friend and my dog for more than 10 minutes and then they said that I had to leave because the boss did not allow dogs in.
I explained and showed the documents to the lady that I was being rude, to leave as I had clients to serve. YOUR BOSS IS NOT ABOVE BRAZILIAN LAW.
In the middle of the conversation (more shouting) the lady in question started speaking to me in English, I said that I was Portuguese, a daughter of the island who spoke Portuguese, she continued speaking in English shouting telling me to leave as there were people to attend to.
I was having an anxiety attack and was sweating all over (running with stress sweat) and I said to the lady, did you see what you're doing? I'm a sick person. When the lady replied, IF YOU'RE SICK, WHY DON'T YOU STAY AT HOME?
I wrote a complaint in the book, but my afternoon was ruined. I still cry today when I talk about it because I remember the way the maid said that to me. I was so stressed that I didn't even mention the waitress's words in the complaints book. I hope she never gets the disease and that if she does, she is never treated like she treated me.
