Things to do in Xingping

Worth a visit; it's serene and solemn. Seeing the place where Emperor Wu of Han lies, and imagining his heroic exploits during his conquest of the empire, is especially moving. Paying homage to the tomb of Huo Qubing, a young hero of history, evokes profound emotions.

Emperor Wu of Han's Maoling Mausoleum & Maoling Museum It's very convenient to get there by car, with a large and easy-to-park parking lot. Following the order of visiting the mausoleum area first, then the museum, the route is very smooth. The mausoleum area is magnificent, allowing you to feel the profound history of the Western Han Dynasty imperial tombs. The museum's highlights include the Huo Qubing Tomb stone carvings and other national treasures like the "Horse Trampling the Xiongnu," which are truly impressive. The exhibits are also very rich. Overall, it wasn't crowded, making for a quiet and comfortable experience. However, the sun is quite strong in the mausoleum area, so sunscreen is recommended. It's well worth a visit for history and culture enthusiasts, offering good value for money.

This was a special treat for my zodiac year. Although I've lived in Xi'an for years, I've never been before. It's definitely not comparable to Disneyland, but the rides were enough for the kids. It was quite crowded during the Spring Festival, with long queues for the bumper cars and log flume. We played from noon until dark. The only downside was the limited dining options and the poor value for money. We also happened to catch a fireworks show during the Spring Festival.

As the saying goes, a trip to Shaanxi is 30% sightseeing and 70% explanation. A good guide can make visiting a museum with a rich history less tiring and less aimless. Guide Xiao Liu is such a friendly and professional person. He explained everything in detail and took care of the children's feelings. We benefited a lot. Shaanxi History Museum truly deserves to be a place that gathers the treasures of Chinese culture!

There are some stone sculptures nearby, the most famous of which is the one of Horse Trampling the Huns. This is also a very vivid statue. After all, there were not many people who could achieve such a feat at that time. Unfortunately, they died young.

Maweiyi, located in Xingping City, Shaanxi Province, was built in recent years relying on the tomb of Yang Guifei and Huangshan Palace as the background. It is mainly for tourism and reflects the characteristics of the Tang Dynasty everywhere. This is where Yang Guifei died and hanged herself on a pear tree, and she is buried under the loess of Mawei.

For those interested in historical culture and ancient architecture, I highly recommend visiting the ancient city wall. Very few cities in China have preserved their ancient city walls. This one is well-preserved and largely retains its original appearance. Standing on the wall, imagining the glorious Tang Dynasty, one can't help but feel a sense of awe… Our guide's explanation was excellent; one hour was packed with valuable information.

Mr. Li Jiang's explanations were exceptional! During the visit to the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, he guided the group to notice easily overlooked details in the architecture and artifacts, delivering his explanations in a humorous and engaging manner. You could genuinely feel his heartfelt love for this ancient site and every brick and tile. His explanations were also accompanied by relevant pictures, extending into many interesting historical anecdotes. The content was rich and engaging, making the entire visit a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommended!

Definitely worth a visit. The air is exceptionally fresh. Of the four treasures (giant ibises, golden snub-nosed monkeys, and golden monkeys), only the crested ibis was too cute to photograph as it was huddled in its cage atop a tree. The others were all adorable, especially Qizai, with its bright, sparkling eyes. The golden snub-nosed monkey family also performed admirably. It's incredibly good value for money.

The Xi'an Bell Tower truly lives up to its reputation as a landmark of Xi'an. Its ancient architecture is exquisite and grand, with graceful eaves and bracket sets. It's especially stunning when illuminated at dusk. Climbing the tower offers panoramic views of the ancient city streets and alleys, creating a captivating atmosphere where the past and present blend seamlessly. Conveniently located next to the Drum Tower and the Muslim Quarter, it's a must-see when visiting Xi'an!
