The Anhua Ancient Tea Horse Road Scenic Area is located in Gaocheng Village, Anhua County, Yiyang City. It retains the natural scenery of alpine dwellings, canyon scenery and rich cultural landscapes. If you have a day, you can visit Yongxi Bridge first. This is a wooden covered bridge. It was built in the seventh year of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty (1881) and was donated by 43 local tea shops and the people of "Jiuxiang". build. Then go to Dongshi Old Street, an ancient commercial street on bluestone slabs. Historically, it was a big township. It used to be the only way from Anhua to Xinhua, Shaoyang, Yungui, and an important transit station on the Ancient Tea Horse Road. . The old street is better kept in its original appearance. The bluestone pavement is lined with wooden houses with local characteristics. There are many shops on the old street, where you can taste some local food and buy some local specialties. The tea horse tribe is about 30 minutes' drive from Dongshi Old Street. It is hidden among the mountains and streams. You can walk here to explore the history of the old road caravans. You can think of the distant sound of horses' hooves, echoing in the valleys and villages. The caravan walked silently on this road. You can also jump on a horse here and ride a horse to visit an ancient tea-horse road. Not far from the tea-horse tribe is the Guanshan Gorge. The total length of the canyon is about 3 highways. The ancient trees in the valley are towering, the mountains are high and the valleys are deep, and there are crystal-clear streams. This is not only an ancient trail, but also a good place for outdoor adventure and rock climbing.Anhua · 21.4 km from downtown

Yiyang Ming Qing Ancient Alley is located on the banks of the Zijiang River in Ziyang District, Yiyang, and is one of the birthplaces of Yiyang Ancient City. It rose to prominence during the Ming Dynasty, leveraging a thriving wharf economy and Zijiang River transport to become a key commercial hub in central Hunan. Composed of three crisscrossing alleys—Weigong Temple, Yulingpo Alley, and Denglongguan Alley—it spans over 250 m, with a width of about 1.8 m. The high walls on either side support each other through a unique arch-buttress wall structure, a rare architectural form in China. The surrounding area also retains cultural heritage sites, including four major historical buildings, four Qing Dynasty wharves, and numerous traditional residences and former commercial sites, keeping its overall character well-preserved. In recent years, following protective restoration and revitalization, it has become an immersive district integrating history and culture, folk customs, intangible cultural heritage displays, and nighttime cultural tourism. Since opening, the ancient alley has attracted a large number of visitors with its rich cultural activities, exquisite traditional craft displays, and unique historical architecture, becoming a new landmark for Yiyang cultural tourism and showcasing the unique charm of blending tradition with modernity.Yiyang · 5.4 km from downtown

Bailu Temple is located on Bailu Mountain on the south bank of Zijiang River. It was built in the Yuanhe period of Emperor Xianzong of the Tang Dynasty and has a history of about 1200 years. It is the largest temple in Yiyang. In the heyday of the ancient temple, there were four entrances, namely Maitreya Buddha Hall, Guanyin Hall, Daxiong Hall, and Pharmacist Hall. In the Qing Dynasty, Bailu Temple had many monks, prosperous incense, and great reputation. What is especially amazing is the ancient bronze bell weighing 1,000 kilograms in the temple. Today's Bailu Temple facing the street gate is majestic, with red wall arches and magnificent style, which greatly exceeds the gate of the ancient temple. On the top of Bailu Mountain is a newly built Mahavira Hall. The Buddha statues in the hall are glittering with golden light, the banners of Buddha flags are colorful, the sound of wooden fish, incense fluttering, and there is an endless stream of good men and women who burn incense and worship Buddha.Yiyang · 3.8 km from downtown

Orange Isle Scenic Area

Orange Isle Scenic Area is a narrow sandbar lying across the heart of the Xiang River in Changsha, stretching approx. five km. It faces Yuelu Mountain to the west and borders Changsha's old city to the east, surrounded by water on all sides. Named after the abundant orange trees planted on the isle, it was historically called Shuiluzhou. Formed by river alluvium, this sandbar has existed for over a millennium, where the "River and sky in evening snow" scenery was once among the Eight Views of Xiaoxiang. In 1925, the poem "Spring in a pleasure garden - Changsha" was composed here, with its iconic line "Alone I stand in the biting fall, watching the Xiang River flow north past Orange Isle's head," which made this riverine landmark widely renowned. The highlights of the visit are concentrated at the islet's head: A granite art sculpture over 30 m tall, modeled after the 1925 youth image, stands facing the river as Changsha's highly recognizable landmark. Nearby, the Questioning Heaven Platform extends toward the river center, where leaning on the railing reveals the mighty Xiang River flowing northward, with Yuelu Mountain and the city skylines on both banks facing each other across the water. The Songju Pavilion, white marble poetry stele, and the 200-year-old ancient phoenix tree at the islet head are all in this area. Heading north from the islet head, a hundred-acre orange orchard bears golden fruits in fall, while bamboo groves, peach orchards, plum gardens, and osmanthus groves take turns showcasing seasonal flora. The historic Zhuzhang Ferry (where Zhu Xi and Zhang Shi once crossed the Xiang River for lectures) and the Huxiang Culture Exhibition Hall are scattered along the way. At the islet's tail, the reconstructed Jiangshen Temple and Gongji Tower area was precisely where ancients admired the "River and sky in evening snow" scenery. The island is long and narrow, making round-trip walks quite tiring. A sightseeing train is available for transportation, with multiple stops along the way for hopping on and off. Travelers with limited time are advised to head straight to the island's tip to see the sculpture and river views, then stroll leisurely along the riverside path. At dusk, watching the sunset over the Xiang River and seeing the lights gradually illuminate both shores from the island's tip is especially worth setting aside time for.Changsha · 72 km from Yiyang

The scenery at the first stop of the Ancient Tea Horse Road is decent, but the Warrior Route is just so-so, nothing particularly challenging. On the contrary, the construction of these roads has caused some damage to the natural scenery, making it a net loss. It is hoped that the departments designing the scenic area will respect nature more, rather than crudely interfering with it.

The scenery is OK, the environment of the scenic area is clean, there are enough toilets, children can play in the children's playground, and adults can enjoy the Tianhe rafting! If you have enough time and energy, you can choose to walk alone. According to the scenic map, you can play for a whole day. If you have enough energy and time, you can spend 20 yuan to buy a scenic sightseeing bus ticket, which is very convenient!

Continued: You must stay until the evening! You must stay until the evening! You must stay until the evening! There are a lot of people during the day, and there are so many people who cut in line! Basically everyone cuts in line, and there are basically no measures to prevent cutting in line... I waited for three hours for an entertainment facility that didn't cut in line... You can wait until the evening when there are fewer people, the entertainment facilities will close later, and you don't have to queue. The lighting is also beautiful.

There were no assigned seats, so you could sit anywhere. We spent most of our time on the third deck enjoying the view and taking photos. Although it was very hot outside, there was a breeze on both sides of the deck, so it wasn't too bad. There were karaoke machines and vendors selling snacks and drinks on both the second and third decks. The air conditioning on the second deck was very strong. We arrived at the pier half an hour early, and there was already a queue.
