_We***34It's a bit of a journey from the hotel to Qiao Family Compound. If you're in Pingyao Ancient City, it's easy to get a ride there. But if you're on a group tour, it's not very comfortable, as the compound is quite large.

DRY20070205The Wang Family Compound—a magnificent 250,000-square-meter mansion built over 300 years, boasting 345 well-arranged courtyards. Constructed by the local Wang family, it includes five alleys, six fortified courtyards, and a main street, covering an area more than 100,000 square meters larger than the Forbidden City. It is hailed as the "Folk Palace of China" and is renowned as the "Number One Residence of Chinese Folk Customs." Off-season admission is 30 yuan per person, quite cost-effective. The only drawback is its distance from Pingyao Ancient City; the road from Pingyao to the Wang Family Compound is dirty, dusty, and mountainous, becoming even dirtier, darker, and more difficult to traverse on snowy days.

福途宝As a symbol of the cultural roots of the Three Jins, the Jin Temple serves as a living specimen for the study of ancient Chinese architecture, sculpture, and garden art, and is known as the "Museum of Ancient Chinese Architecture." Dedicated to Ji Yu, the first vassal of the Jin State in the early Western Zhou Dynasty, the Jin Temple boasts a rich collection of cultural relics, including over 100 buildings, including halls, towers, pavilions, terraces, bridges, and pavilions from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. It also boasts over 100 sculptures and 30 cast works from the Song and Yuan dynasties, over 400 steles from various dynasties, over 200 poems, plaques, and couplets, and 96 ancient and renowned trees, 30 of which are over a thousand years old. The preservation of such a rich collection of exquisite artifacts within a single cultural heritage site is truly rare. For those interested in ancient architecture and learning about history, this is a worthwhile visit.

小贩何I absolutely loved the winter snowscape at Jinci Temple. We had a guided tour (100 RMB) for an hour and a half, which was very professional and great value (don't hire any so-called guides on the street!). The tour was very educational! 👍👍 At the end, they even summarized the three treasures, three wonders, and three plaques.

205***07It covers a large area and has a well-developed layout, nestled against the mountains and overlooking the water, reflecting the ancient city-building system. The watchtowers are very tall, giving it a strong sense of guarding the border and protecting against enemies. Walking on the city walls is a unique experience. However, it gets very sunny in the summer, and the streets feel quite hot. It's particularly suitable for taking photos in period costumes.

Anonymous userTaiyuan Botanical Garden is a landmark building in Taiyuan. I went there and it was really beautiful! We went during the Dragon Boat Festival, and it was especially beautiful. All kinds of animals and plants were incredibly gorgeous. There's also the famous giant elevator, which is very attractive and great for taking photos. It was absolutely fantastic!

不帅不酷又矮没钱的大叔Everyone knows about the Leshan Giant Buddha, but what about the Mengshan Giant Buddha? Actually, in terms of age, the Mengshan Giant Buddha is 162 years older! In terms of height, the Mengshan Giant Buddha is only second, slightly shorter than the Leshan Giant Buddha! Getting to the Mengshan Giant Buddha isn't very convenient. Public transportation is available, but during the off-season, services are infrequent. Taking a taxi is recommended; taxi prices in Taiyuan are quite reasonable! The climb itself is of moderate length and difficulty. If you want an easier climb, you can take a shuttle bus. Along the way, you'll pass Kaihua Temple, the Iron Buddha Hall, and other smaller attractions. Looking up at the Buddha at its base is breathtaking; it's definitely worth a visit!

行走毛毛Since its renovation, the Shanxi Museum has become incredibly crowded. I remember when the old museum opened, there were hardly any people at all. Now, it's packed with people, making it extremely difficult to take a photo without faces in it. I can only take pictures of some lesser-known artifacts to show you.

Guided Tours: DP group purchases are available for ¥110 per person, at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. 🚌Transportation: Buses 308, 804, and the Y7 tourist bus are available. A one-kilometer walk is required (runs are infrequent). 🅿️Parking: Limited parking is available, so park on the street.
