As my experience visiting Banyuwangi, East Java, Indonesia, I would like to give out some practical tips for visiting these most favorite destinations in Banyuwangi:
1. Baluran National Park
· Arrive late (around 4:00 PM) for the best chance of seeing Sunset and wildlife such as deer, buffalo, peacocks, and monkeys.
· Bring plenty of drinking water and snacks, as food options inside the park are limited.
· Wear light, breathable clothing, a hat, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes.
· Drive carefully, as roads are shared with wildlife (I recommend you to book private trip with Jeep to complete the stunning sunset in Baluran National Park).
2. Pulau Menjangan
· The island is known for some of the best snorkeling and diving in Bali’s West Bali National Park.
· Book a boat and guide in advance, especially on weekends and holidays.
· Waterproof bags are useful for protecting phones and cameras during the boat ride.
· Morning trips usually offer calmer seas and better underwater visibility.
3. Pulau Tabuhan
· Visit during the dry season for calmer water and clearer views.
· The island is popular for snorkeling, swimming, and kiteboarding because of its steady winds.
· There are very limited facilities, so bring drinking water, snacks, and any essentials.
· Don’t forget a hat and sun protection.
4. De Djawatan
· Visit in the morning or late afternoon for cooler temperatures and the best lighting for photos.
· The giant trembesi (rain) trees create a unique atmosphere often compared to a fantasy forest.
· It’s an easy stop suitable for families and doesn’t require much walking.
· Consider renting a bicycle or horse cart if available for a different way to explore.
· Weekdays are generally quieter than weekends.
Happy Trip guys 😎
