A Buddhist temple of the Soto sect on the mountainside of Amakusa City. It seems that there is a historical position such as conversion from Christianity, but it was not very interesting when enjoying the temple itself for sightseeing. Compared to the main hall, the mountain gate is spectacular with its magnificent appearance built about 300 years ago.

It seems that Shigenari Suzuki, the daikan (local governor), built it at the request of a magnificent temple to attract the heart of People 々, but appealed to the Shogunate to reduce the kokudaka to save the people of Amakusa. I think it will be even more interesting to visit after investigating the person named Shigenari Suzuki who committed seppuku.
