I couldn't reach it with the car navigation system, so I searched for it on Google and arrived. It's easy to understand because it's on the side of the road. Parking on the street after passing by a little (no parking lot).

It was a place to pass by, but if you look at it, it is good 々! !!

When I was running along Prefectural Road 655, the sightseeing bus stopped and I was on a tour, so I was curious and when I stopped by, it was a cliff Buddha with a Buddha statue carved on the rock wall. It was created during the Muromachi period, and there are Kumano Makaibutsu and Nabeyama Makaibutsu nearby, making it a national historic site. Five statues were carved with thin meat carvings, and from the right there were Bishamonten, Sakura Doji, Fudo Myoo, Mochikukuten, and Voice-mon-shaped statues (Jizo Bodhisattva). A covered hall is installed in the stone Buddha, and Sai ...

A cliff Buddha along the road

    Original Text

It is a cliff Buddha along the road on the way from Kumano cliff Buddha to Fukiji Temple. It's really along the road, so it's easy to get there by car. Now, a roof (covered hall) is being built, probably for protection. It's not big, but I think it's a good idea to stop by to feel the culture of the cliff Buddha scattered around this area.

    It's on the road.

Speaking of Makaibutsu, I had the image of climbing a long and steep staircase, but this was along the road. The building on the outside is new, but the Makai Buddha itself is old, and it was imaginable that it was exposed to the wind and rain for a long time, and it was tasteful.

On the rock wall on the north side of Tasomehachiman Shrine, five statues of Fudo Myoo are carved on the right, such as Kinbora Doji, Bishamonten, and Mochikuniten on the left, and Jizo Bodhisattva. The rocks around here are fragile and easy to shave, but they are easily weathered and are now protected by coverers. It's near Fukiji Temple, where the national treasure is located, so I think it's a good idea to go around together.
