This is a MUST if you are in Zhangjiajie. It’s just as breathtaking as the Avatar mountains. You will need a day for Tianmen mountain. It costs RMB275 for cable car and cable car down. We took the bus up to the first stop of the mountain then walked up to the Cave (mountain with the hole). Then walked up 1,000 steps. The view is amazing. From there we then took the world’s longest escalator to the top of the mountain. We then went from the West side (yellow route) and followed the mountain edge to the east side ;red route). The bridge is really long, and anyone who walks across it will definitely feel a thrill. The glass is very clear, but since it just rained, there were puddles that made it hard to take clear photos. However, our eyes could see everything clearly, and it was quite thrilling. Once you cross, there is another short glass balcony (be careful of slipping when it rains). You don't need to wear shoe covers. After passing through, you can play VR balloon, which is a lot of fun and in 3D. It's a must-try. There are also zip lines and boat rides, but we didn't try them. Just watching others was fun enough.

Getting There - we took a private car from Zhangjiajie to the glass bridge. For 6 people it was 200¥ when booking through our hotel. Attractions - Glass bridge, zip wiring, virtual reality, walk along the river, boats. Hotels - N/A Food & Restaurants - couple of stalls selling snacks. Shopping - stalls selling snacks and souvenirs. A great day out! It was quite busy but we thoroughly enjoyed it. You can also opt to take the elevator, slide or walk down the steps if you don’t want to zip wire. At the bottom of the glass bridge there is a lovely riverside walk - around 3k. Such as outdoor bouldering, zip line, slide, boat ride and the hike/walk along the river. All activities ranging from 10 to 50 yuen. There are some more expensive such as bungy jump, but you gotta have guts for that 😅 The views are breathtaking, and besides the glass bridge itself there is an additional glass sidewalk by the mountain. Built between two mountain cliffs, the bridge overlooks a beautiful canyon. While it may be crowded, there is still plenty of space and opportunities to get the perfect photo! 👟 Before you go on the bridge, you'll have to put on shoe covers! This protects the glass from getting scuffed by shoes. The shoe covers are included in the ticket price and will be handed to you as you enter the top of the mountain. 🧗🏻♀️ Once you've walked the bridge and taken in the scenery, you have endless activities at your fingertips. Most famously, the bridge holds the world's highest bungee jump, stationed at a whopping 285 meters tall. If that's a little too hard core for you, there is also the option to rock climb, zip line, or experience a one of a kind VR journey. Once you're done up top, you can either simply climb down the mountain, or take a slide down, which brings you through a scenic route filled with trees and laughter from the fun you'll have. 🛶 Once you've completed your activities up top, spend some time down in the canyon.
