Short pleasant walk
Nice short walk around the lake, some great views of the city and lucky to spot a bald eagle in the trees on the river
Locked in the park due to poor employee management
Lock us in the park while we was fishing and didn't even checked just lock the gates. Not even a notice
Nice location for a walk
We were glad to find this park for a walk, the day after a long drive. It is popular with locals, judging from all the cyclists, runners, walkers, etc., that we saw. Very clean, no litter.
Great place to walk
We enjoyed walking around this beautiful lake with views of the downtown of Des Moines. There is also a beach for swimming, fishing, playground, and canoes, kayaks, and boats available to rent.
Warning: Gates lock at 10 pm
Park is great; good trails, kayak rentals etc. The gates are locked promptly at 10 pm and no way to get your car out until the next day. Need to post bigger signs to this effect.
