If it rains, let's meet at this artistic ancient village
The ambiance of a rainy day matches well with this off-the-beaten-path ancient village--Langtou Ancient Village. A 700-year-old Lingnan ancient village, it's quiet with few people~🍃 and full of architecturally designed buildings🕋. The place is large, suitable for viewing exhibitions, wandering around the village, and enjoying delicious food. You can really spend a whole day there.
🔷Tour Plan
Guangzhou--Chunyang Platform (architecture and exhibition viewing)--Fei Ma Restaurant--Hechun Residence--Ancient village tour--Afternoon tea--Return
Langtou Ancient Village is divided into two parts: the art architecture area and the ancient village.
🔹Art Architecture
The Chunyang Platform building is like a piece of art, 🕋 with its strong lines and layered spatial feel. Walking around it is very photogenic. Inside the Chunyang Platform is an art exhibition hall, library, and restaurant. If it rains🌧️, it's nice to visit inside. To be honest, 💰 the price is a bit expensive, 70 RMB per person, but it's worth it if you like it, and it's also photogenic inside.
Hechun Residence is a group of homestays opposite Chunyang Platform, featuring Lingnan courtyards with small bridges and flowing water, very exquisite and worth a visit.
🔹Ancient Village
Passing through the art buildings in front, 🏘️ you'll find various ancestral halls and study rooms. Langtou Ancient Village, with its 388 Ming and Qing dynasty buildings, 🌳 is very well preserved. Many residential study rooms are still in use or have been converted into small shops. Crossing the Filial Piety Bridge🌉, you'll see former residential houses with intricately carved eaves and brightly colored, delicately crafted details, offering an interesting experience to appreciate.
🥘Village Cuisine
Next to the parking lot, there are several farmhouse restaurants, and even more local eateries in the village. 🤫 Eating directly in the ancient houses is quite a unique experience. This time I tried Fei Ma Restaurant, with its signature beef hoof soup🥘, rich in medicinal flavors and huge chunks of beef hoof, truly amazing, and a small portion is too much for two people.🥹
After getting tired from walking, you can lie down for afternoon tea in a beverage shop, pet some cats🐱, with several located next to the ancestral halls, surprisingly offering good products.🧋

✅Suggestion: Self-driving~ Langtou Ancient Village, Tanbu Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou
There was no parking fee when I went there
Shantou Ancient Village is located in Tanbu Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou, Licun from the Yuan Dynasty to the Zheng 27 years (1367), has a history of 651 years. It is known for its variety of ancient buildings, large-scale preserved buildings and rich cultural connotations. It is one of the largest ancient villages in Guangdong Province to date. In 2008, Shantou Ancient Village became one of the first 27 ancient villages recognized in Guangdong Province. In 2010, it was named the top ten characteristic streets (villages) in Guangzhou.
Shantou Ancient Village is now open for tours. Individuals only need to verify Suikang code and registration information. The team must call early to make an appointment before entering ... and see that many villagers do not wear masks now, although the risk is low now. But it feels good under protection. The ancient village is quite big. Since there are no people coming now, it looks quite quiet. It is very suitable for walking around and taking pictures. ...
Huadu Shantou Ancient Village (Tanbu Town) ―― One of Guangdong's famous historical and cultural villages, famous for a long time, is still one of the traditional Lingnan ancient villages, the ancient buildings are also preserved quite a lot and intact, but I have seen too many similar ancient villages.
I have just been to Shantou Ancient Village in the past two weeks, it is worth a visit. You can take the high-speed bus from Guangzhou Bus Terminal for more than 40 minutes to Huadu Tanbu Bus Station (or take Huadu No. 5 to Tanbu Bus Station), and walk 40 minutes west from the bus station. No tickets are charged. The characteristic of this village is that the transportation is not convenient, so it is not very commercialized, there are few tourists, there is no selling, and there are few places to eat. However, the tourism package has been relatively complete. Detailed road maps, introduction cards can be seen everywhere in the village. The parking lot and toilets are all equipped. It is very suitable for the hustle and bustle of the city to leave, go to the meditation tour, and taste the vicissitudes of the years. In addition, the buildings with the plaques of "sou and so-called study rooms" and "sou and so-called study rooms" are also halls, not the study rooms of the ancients.
Shantou Ancient Village is located in Tanbu Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou, from the Yuan Dynasty to the Zheng 27 years (1367), and has a history of 651 years. Shantou Village is now fully preserved in the Ming and Qing Dynasties of the blue brick buildings, there are nearly 200, there are halls, academies, artillery buildings, gate buildings, etc. and more than 20 ancient alleys, the most famous with a long history of Shengping Renrui archway and Qingyun Bridge. It is famous for its variety of ancient buildings, large-scale preservation of buildings and rich cultural connotations. It is one of the largest ancient villages in Guangdong to date. The lotus pond outside the village must be beautiful if the lotus blossoms in summer.
Located in Huadu Tanbu Town, it is really a new socialist countryside and very clean. The planning is very good, there are many parking spaces, free. This is the main surname of Huang. There have been many people in the imperial examinations. Many temples and bookstores have been buildings since the Qing Dynasty.
