If you've driven to the Kalaupapa overlook, take a few minutes and take the trail to the left down to the phallic rock. There are no petroglyphs and you may have been lead to believe, but the rock is ...
Beautiful, peaceful path through the woods - walking on a bed of pine needles. And when we arrived at the rock, we enjoyed a photo and learning about the history of the myth of the rock.
The walk in can't be more than a 1/3 mile, with a bit of an elevation gain. But a fun place to take a photo. Where you park is the same as the overlook for the peninsula. So do both.

Beautiful Hike
This is a beautiful hike all by itself even before you get to the story on Nanahoa and his wife. Well worth the drive.
