Wandai mine hot spring is good. It warms well.
It is on a slope from the BT of Kusatsu. It is an area with pensions and villas around. There is a free hot spring managed by locals by renovating the closed inn, but it seems that there are many cases where it is not available.
The steam rises.
There is a hiking route from the Kissei Gate to the center of Kusatsu, and you can walk in the mountains, but on the way there is one of the sources of Kusatsu. When you approach it, you can see the steam rising. It was a pity that it was off limits to the vicinity in the fall of 2019, but I enjoyed the scent of sulfur.
