🌴 Langkawi Is So Underrated! Why Didn’t Anyone Tell Me Sooner? 💕
#langkawihotel
✨While most Malaysians fly east to Sabah or Semporna for their island getaways, I just discovered that Langkawi in West Malaysia is a total hidden gem! Think crystal-clear waters, lush mangroves, epic sunsets, and tons of fun activities — all in one affordable island paradise. 💖
📝 Travel Tips You’ll Thank Me For
💴 Cash is King – Many local spots still operate on cash only. Credit cards or e-wallets are mostly accepted at large stores or hotels.
🌞 Sun & Mosquito Protection – The sun is strong, so bring high-SPF sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and a UV jacket. Planning to visit the rainforest or mangrove areas? Don’t forget insect repellent or mosquito bands — you’ll need them! 🦟
📍 Top Places to Visit in Langkawi
🏖️ Tanjung Rhu Beach
One of my favorite spots! Quiet, scenic, and surrounded by small islands forming a calm bay. Great for sunrise or sunset. Nearby, you can also explore the Kilim Geoforest Park for a nature-filled adventure.
🏖️ Pantai Cenang (Cenang Beach)
Langkawi’s most popular beach with soft white sand and lots of vibes. Go in the day for sun and water fun, then stay for the beach nightlife — bars, fire shows, and sea breeze evenings!
🏙️ Kuah Town
Langkawi’s main town and ferry terminal area. Come here for banking, catching boats, or hitting up the duty-free stores — chocolates, alcohol, and even perfumes at bargain prices. Most shops open from 10am to 10pm.
🌿 Kilim Geoforest Park
Home to limestone caves, mangroves, exotic plants, and dramatic rock formations. Open 9am–5pm. Highly recommend booking a guided tour to fully appreciate the ecology and history!
⛵ Sunset Cruise
Sail into the sunset while enjoying food and drinks on board. The views are unbeatable — romantic and unforgettable.
🛶 Mangrove Tour
Explore untouched nature, spot monkeys, eagles, and even bats. Includes boat rides, cave visits, and often a local guide.
🏝️ Island Hopping
Visit Dayang Bunting Island, Beras Basah Island & more. Activities include eagle feeding, fishing (you can even cook your catch at nearby restaurants), and snorkeling.
🏍️ ATV Jungle Adventure
For thrill-seekers — drive your own ATV through the rainforest and enjoy the raw beauty of Langkawi’s untouched nature.
⚠️ Before You Go… Pack Smart!
👚 Light, breathable clothes for daytime. A thin jacket for air-conditioned places or evening breeze.
🦟 Insect repellent is a must, especially if you’re doing outdoor or jungle activities.
☀️ Beach gear, sunscreen, and if you’re snorkeling — bring your own disposable mouthpiece for hygiene.
✨Seriously, Langkawi has so much more to offer than I expected. From natural wonders to exciting adventures and relaxing beach days — it’s a destination I’d happily go back to. Save this post and plan your island escape now! 🌺💦
Peaceful, clean and white sandy beach. The most beautiful beach at Langkawi
One of the most beautiful beaches in LGK, Tanjung Rhu. Favourite spot for sunset lovers. An alternative gateway to Kilim Mangrove Tour. delicious food can be found at few eateries here.
There are very few people, the water is clear and the sand is fine. It can be said to be the most ideal holiday destination in Langkawi. There is a low tide path on Tanjong Rhu Beach. About ten days a month, in the morning and evening when the weather is good, a path made of silted sand will be exposed. You can walk to the island opposite. Isn't it magical? It is right on the private beach of Tanjong Rhu Hotel.
We did this place on our last day and I regret it very much. Would safely say this is the best beach in Langkawi. Such a pity we went here last as we were had spend most of our time in the rainforest. Felt like our time af Tanjung rhu Beach was not enough and will certainly be coming back again in the near future.
Endless white sandy beach, typical island coastal scenery, colorful boats docked randomly, and eagles circling around. This can be regarded as a top beach, sand and sunset and sunrise scenery. The surrounding shops can provide basic necessities, and the food is also OK. There are no alcoholic beverages for sale around, and maybe because of this, I found everyone here very friendly. It was a great day, allowing us to experience the world's top beaches
Tanjong Rhu Beach is the most famous beach in Langkawi. The water here is very clear and the sea surface is calm. There are many European and American tourists lying on the lazy sofas here to bask in the sun, which is very relaxing. We also spent a pleasant afternoon here. It was not hot, but very cool and very comfortable.
Tanjong Rhu Beach in Langkawi is a very beautiful beach with very flat and clean sand. There are irregular islands in the distance, which makes people daydream. It is really a very pleasant and comfortable thing to come to the beach to blow the sea breeze and bask in the sun.
Like Chenang Beach, we went to a public beach. The water was clearer than that of Chenang Beach (maybe because there were fewer people?), but the sand was a bit coarse and had sharp edges, like it was artificially crushed and had not been washed by sea water for a long time. It was hot and rough to walk on.
