For those who like the era of change in the steam locomotive industry, this is full of charm! Husband is mechanical engineering, this is the place he insists on going. I gave up the Red Roof Church (it was raining heavily) and agreed to go with him. The old sugar factory was very interested, not to dismantle the original machinery and equipment but to retain the original appearance, repaired and become a museum. It completely restored the process of sugar production and enriched the recent history of the small island nation of Mauritius. There are not many people visiting, mainly Europeans and Americans. I have not seen Chinese friends at the only attraction. If there is an hour, I suggest you come and visit it. It is very convenient to drive, not far from Super U.
The Sugar Museum is very close to the Pomplermos Botanical Garden. There is a small road. Fortunately, the driver of our chartered car knows that we can see it through a sugar cane field. It is transformed by the old sugar factory and shows the importance of the sugar industry in Mauritius. Tickets!
The gift department in the museum can buy sugar in various colors and the price is very affordable
Really a great trip (if you like museums!) The trip was very fulfilling, there was so much to read and learn about, really great for me personally, I loved it because there was a lot of fun to learn. The desserts and rum in the store can be tasted for free, the taste is very good, the lady also helped us explain the types of desserts, if let me evaluate, they are really a group of lovely people, this museum is really great!
