Yuantong Temple

Yuantong Temple is located in the castle of Liuba Township, Minle County, Zhangye. According to the fifth record of "Ganzhou Prefecture Chronicle": "Yuantong Temple, in Liubabao, was built by Emperor Huizong of Song Dynasty. The Yuantong Temple Pagoda sits east to west and the front is 30 degrees to the south. There are brick barriers around 3.31 meters around the tower. The height from the base of the platform to the top of the tower is 21.9 meters, and the tower base is a two-layered Xumizuo. Above the tower is Mount Sumeru, with a small tower on each of the upper and lower four corners, a total of 8, which correspond to the top and bottom, and are exquisite and exquisite. On the top of Mount Sumeru is a huge covered bowl tower in the middle, the huge tower in the center is the Great Sun Tathagata Buddha, the small towers around are Amitabha Buddha in the east, Baosheng Buddha in the south, Amitabha Buddha in the west, and Bukong Achievement Buddha in the north. Above the bowl, there is a Xumi seat, and there are 5 Buddhist niches on each side around the seat, totaling 20 niches. Each niche has a built-in Buddha (for the theme of esoteric Buddhism). Then there is the 13-weight phase wheel. Above the phase wheel is a circular wooden canopy. There are 36 iron tassels hanging around it. Scattered, the wind chimes ring, still ethereal and sweet.
