Beautiful ume or plum blossom season
Mito, in particular Kairakuen has many beautiful plum trees. During February and March, there is the Mito Ume Matsuri or festival. When we visited, we could see many plum blossoms which Mito is famous...
I went because the plum blossoms were in full bloom. I think it can't be helped because it's only a famous place. If you go by car, the nearby parking lot will be very crowded, so we recommend using a coin parking a little far away. There are many events and stores. However, I thought that the plum trees and flowers were thinner and weaker than other plum gardens. It may have been early.
It is held from 2 mid-Medium to late 3 late every year along with the time of plum blossoms. During the period, many events will be held, such as tea parties, poetry and dances in the park, chicks, and a photo session of "Mito no Ume Ambassador" in furisode. When I visited, the "Mito no Ume Ambassador" in furisode responded to a commemorative photo. Although it is only Saturdays and Sundays during the Ume Festival, a limited express train temporarily stops at the nearest Kirakuen station.
Kirakuen in Mito, one of Ibaraki's leading tourist attractions. After all, it is one of the three major gardens in Japan famous for plum blossoms. The plum blossom season is quite busy under the title of "Mito Plum Festival".
Plum blossoms that bloom early, medium, late and start bloom are planted, so you can enjoy them until late February 〜 mid-March. In early March, the plum blossoms were in full bloom and there were stalls, which was very crowded. As of around 11 am, the line of parking lots was becoming a ridiculous traffic jam. There were some coin parking and private parking lots a little far away, and there was surprisingly plenty of room.

Many people visit only the sights.
