The Leap King Step is located in the Tongwang City, just north of the War Elephant Step. The platform, which is about 7 meters high, was the crematorium of the royal family at that time. It was named after a genderless "Leap King" statue on the top of the platform. The statue seen now is a replica, and the original is kept in the National Museum of Phnom Penh. There are many exquisite reliefs on the parapet around the platform, which are the essence of the Leprosy King's Steps. Constructed of red stone, the façade has a jagged, octagonal-like exterior, and its irregular south, east and north faces are covered with dense reliefs. You can see the seated figures on the sixth and seventh floors, including the princess wearing beautiful pearl ornaments, the god holding a sword, the disgusting Asura, the king wearing a crown and the ministers and concubines who accompany him. If you look closely, you can also find the 5, 7, and 9 snake spirits at the bottom of the Naga, and even stories of hell trials and torture. These carvings are very expressive and somewhat eerie. Going to the west end of the south of the platform, facing the position of the War Elephant Steps, there is a zigzag narrow road similar in shape to the outer wall, from southwest to northwest. When you walk in, you can see the inner wall corridor, which is also engraved with reliefs. And the style is similar to the exterior wall. Because the inner wall was covered by the outer building, it was able to escape the destruction of the war. The carvings on the wall, such as immortals and snake spirits, appear to be very new and quite complete. Come out from the inner wall, follow the steps outside to the top of the Leap King steps, and you can see a naked and yellow cassock statue of the Leap King, with a few sticks of incense sticking in front of it. There are different opinions about the "leprosy king", some say that the statue was covered with moss when it was found, some say that it is a king who contracted leprosy, and some say that it is actually a statue of Yama, the god of death. It doesn't take too much time to visit the Leopard King's Steps, but if you are interested in historical sites and carving craftsmanship, you can linger for a long time in these extremely varied character carvings.
The Lai Wang Step is located on the north side of the Douxiangtai. It is a seven-meter-high platform with many exquisite carvings on the guard wall around the platform. Lai Wang Platform was the site of the Royal Crematorium at that time, and was named after a statue of Lai Wang on the platform.
A building with many, many small reliefs, the height of the floor is not high, there are many layers, walking in the passage, the feeling of the gods on both sides is very wonderful. On the north side of the Douxiangtai, you will not miss it.
It doesn't look like a cremation platform at all. Few people are close to here to carefully observe the reliefs, but they are all strange and different. The vivid image of the reliefs of large and small characters is connected with the Douxiangtai.
Well preserved carvings on a wall in the Angkor Thom area. It can get very busy here, so try and time your visit accordingly.
It is a maze of exquisite reliefs, but there is a fan-like "Ya", that is, the King of the Dragon. Walking along the irregular passage of the relief corridor, you can see the angel reliefs with swords in hand, there are 5, 7, 9 snake Jingnaga and many marine animals reliefs. These angels reliefs are rich in expression, elegant in action, lifelike, as if telling the world a long story, people think about!
Time has arrived at noon. It's hot and hot, and there is no toilet in this place. It's better for male comrades to solve the problem. Women are more troublesome. This shows that tourism services are not in place. Get on the Tutu and go to the distribution center near Lao Wangtai. There is a free mobile toilet, which is quite clean. After solving the problem, we drive to the entrance of the battle platform. On this day, we put aside our reserve and kept asking Tutu drivers to get free ice water. This service is really good.
Siem Reap, Cambodia. The five scenic spots of Greater Angkor are linked together. According to the order of visits, they are Barong Temple, Bafang Temple, Air Palace, War Elephant Stair and King's Stair. Because they are in the last order, they are not so amazing. But the walls of statues like mazes are very distinctive.
I like the mural part of the king tower. The inner wall and the outer wall are maze-like passages, and there are many reliefs depicting the palace. The platform is built from red soil and sandstone, about six meters high, and the inner wall reliefs depict the gods and Ashuro together, which is intriguing. The ratio of the nine heads is even and perfect, the expression of the goddess is rich, and the accessories of the gods are also different. You can calm down in the passage and carefully observe and study. The king of the king on the platform is like a replica, and the real artifact is hidden in the National Museum in Phnom Penh. The king of the king looks a bit scary. There are legends that he is the king of leprosy. There are also legends that his beard and tooth decay are because he has become the king of the king. He wanted to take pictures and leave a memorial, but he felt afraid when he walked to the front. I didn’t dare to look at the surrounding carvings carefully. I left quickly. A little regretful!
